Manuel Rodríguez - Out with shoulder inflammation Rodriguez landed on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation Friday, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Impact Rodriguez got lit up in his last four relief appearances, allowing 11 runs (eight earned) on 10 hits and five walks over just 2.2 total innings. Prior to that point, he'd recorded a 2.40 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 15 innings of work, so there's reason to believe his sudden downturn may have been injury-related. He'll be eligible to return in the final week of the season, but the timing of the injury means there's a very real chance his season is already over.

Adam Morgan - Back from bereavement list Morgan was activated off the bereavement list Friday, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Impact Morgan missed the maximum seven days while on the bereavement list. He'll give the Cubs a left-handed bullpen option over the final few weeks of the season. Two of his last six outings have resulted in saves, so it's possible he adds another save or two to his tally before the end of the year, though Rowan Wick has gotten the majority of the Cubs recent save opportunities.
