Moving up to Triple-A The Marlins recalled Gibson from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Impact Miami had just optioned Gibson to Triple-A on Wednesday, but he'll be able to rejoin the big club less than a week later after infielder Xavier Edwards (thumb) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. The 28-year-old southpaw owns a 5.87 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 32:19 K:BB over 38.1 innings for the Marlins this season.

Dispatched to Triple-A The Marlins optioned Gibson to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.

Impact Gibson will head back to the minors after he yielded runs in five of his last six appearances while turning in a 7.36 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB in 7.1 innings during that stretch. The Marlins called up lefty Patrick Monteverde from Triple-A to take Gibson's spot in the bullpen and on the active roster.

Impact Gibson will take the ball for the first inning or so before making way for a bulk reliever. Tyler Phillips will presumably follow Gibson, though the Marlins have yet to confirm their pitching plans for the second game of the series.
