Relegated to Triple-A The Diamondbacks optioned Jarvis to Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Impact Jarvis was lit up for three runs in just two-thirds of an inning Friday against the Cubs, elevating his ERA to 7.36 across 7.1 frames. He'll look to right the ship at Reno, and his past success in the majors suggests that he should be able to return to Arizona relatively quickly.

Impact Jarvis' 5.12 FIP in 2024 indicates that his performance didn't quite live up to his 3.19 ERA. But after finishing the Cactus League schedule with two earned runs allowed and 13 strikeouts through 9.1 innings, Jarvis did a great job proving he still belongs in Arizona's bullpen. He'll presumably take on a middle-relief role to begin 2025.

Impact Jarvis didn't make any appearances after July 30 of last season while recovering from an elbow sprain, but the 27-year-old righty doesn't seem to be too far behind the Diamondbacks' other relievers in spring training. Picks up first win Jarvis (1-2) picked up the win over the Dodgers on Wednesday, pitching 2.1 scoreless innings in relief while allowing one hit and two walks. He struck out one.

Impact Jarvis relieved Cristian Mena to open the bottom of the fourth and managed to hold the Dodgers' lineup scoreless over the next 2.1 innings despite allowing a baserunner in each frame. Arizona would go on to add four runs over that stretch, helping the right-hander earn his first win of the campaign. Though Jarvis allowed two runs in his previous relief appearance on June 27 against the Twins, he's actually held opposing teams scoreless in four of his last five outings.

Impact Arizona manager Torey Lovullo turned to Jarvis, the team's long arm out of the bullpen, to navigate extra frames. The lefty managed to extricate himself from a bases loaded jam in the 10th inning thanks to double-play groundout but couldn't escape the 11th. Jordan Westburg reached down for the first pitch -- a slider at the bottom of the zone -- and got the end of the bat on the ball which landed just inside the right field line, plating the automatic runner for the Orioles' walk-off win.
