Romy González - Battling back stiffness Gonzalez was pulled from Wednesday's game against the Rangers due to back stiffness, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Impact Manager Alex Cora said after the game that the 28-year-old infielder is fine after his collision with Texas' Josh Smith, though Gonzalez's back stiffened up on him following the incident. The Red Sox may elect to hold him out of Thursday's series finale as a precaution, though he should avoid an extended absence.

Aroldis Chapman - Collects fifth save Chapman earned the save in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Rangers, allowing one solo home run and one walk while striking out one batter in the ninth inning.
Impact Chapman was brought in for the ninth frame with the Red Sox up 6-3, but Boston's lead was quickly cut down to two when Josh Jung took the first pitch of the at-bat deep to left-center field for a solo home run. Chapman yielded a walk later in the frame, but the veteran closer was able to finish things off with an eight-pitch punchout of Blaine Crim, with two of the southpaw's sinkers touching 103 mph. Chapman has five saves in as many opportunities this season with a 2.19 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 18:5 K:BB over 12.1 innings.

Tanner Houck - Yields two earned in no-decision Houck did not factor into the decision against the Rangers on Thursday, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out two over 4.2 innings.
Impact Houck got through the first two innings with relative ease, but he proceeded to give up one run in each of the next three innings, highlighted by a solo home run from Adolis Garcia in the fourth frame. Houck generated eight whiffs on 89 pitches (55 strikes), but he wasn't able to make it out of the fifth inning for the third time this season. He has a 3.57 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 21:5 K:BB over 22.2 innings in his four starts since giving up 11 earned runs against the Rays on April 14. Houck is slated to start against the Tigers on the road next week, when he'll look to register his first win of the season.

Impact Bregman put the Red Sox on the board in the fourth inning with a solo home run off Tyler Mahle, and the former put the Red Sox on top for good in the seventh with a two-run single. Wednesday marked the fifth time this season that Bregman has logged at least three hits, and he has reached base safely in 19 straight games. Over that span, Bregman has slashed .378/.471/.784 with 20 runs scored, seven home runs and 18 RBI in 87 plate appearances.

Impact Abreu's two solo home runs came in the fourth and seventh frames, and he added a third RBI in the sixth with a double that brought Alex Bregman home. It was Abreu's second multi-homer game of the season (with the first coming Opening Day, also against the Rangers) and the sixth time he has recorded three hits. Abreu has gone 7-for-12 with three home runs and four RBI over his last three games.

Romy González - Exits after collision Gonzalez was removed from Wednesday's game against the Rangers after a collision with Josh Smith, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
Impact Gonzalez was down on the ground for a few minutes immediately after running into Smith, but the former was able to walk it off. He then jogged out to play first base at the top of the seventh inning but was quickly called back into the dugout in favor of Abraham Toro. The fact that Gonzalez was willing to go back out on defense is a good sign that his removal was precautionary, but the Red Sox should offer some clarity after the game.
