Mashes first big-league homer Naylor went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and three total runs in a blowout 14-1 win against the Royals on Wednesday.
Impact Naylor had struggled in 12 big-league games (including five last season) coming into Wednesday, going 3-for-32 with no extra-base hits and 15 strikeouts. His considerable talent showed up against KC, though, as he smashed a 417-foot two-run shot in the sixth inning for his first major-league long ball and finished with his first three-hit game. Naylor has been getting consistent playing time behind the plate since being called up June 17, and if he's able to use Wednesday's performance as a launch point to more consistent offense, he should further cement his role as the Guardians' primary backstop.

Impact Naylor had another rough night at the plate, going down swinging three times and failing to reach base safely in four at-bats. After slashing .252/.387/.486 with 12 long balls at the Triple-A level prior to his promotion, Naylor has gone 1-for-16 (.062) with eight strikeouts in five appearances. Though the rookie has primarily been splitting time with Cam Gallagher behind the dish, the pair could start ceding more work to David Fry if their struggles at the plate persist.

Impact Naylor will also be in the starting lineup and catch Bibee on Saturday. The backstop's path is cleared with the Guardians designating Mike Zunino for assignment, and in 217 at-bats with Columbus, Naylor has registered an .891 OPS with 13 homers. The 23-year-old should see the majority of the reps behind the plate beginning Saturday, and he's worth a fantasy addition for those looking for catching help in redraft formats.

Impact Gaddis will head back to Columbus after he went 0-for-2 during Sunday's doubleheader with the Mets. The 23-year-old will certainly earn another shot in the big leagues later this season as he's batting .257 with nine homers, 32 RBI and 29 runs over 148 at-bats in 41 games with Columbus this year.

For now it appears the young backstop is just up for Sunday's twin bill, but he could receive an extended look in the majors before long with Mike Zunino and Cam Gallagher going a combined 3-for-50 at the plate in May.
