Chris Bassitt - Another dreadful showing Bassitt (0-2) took the loss Sunday against the Pirates, allowing six runs on six hits and two walks in no innings. He failed to record a strikeout.
Impact Following a disappointing Orioles debut that saw him give up four runs to the Rangers, Bassitt was unable to get back on track. The veteran right-hander exhibited a significant lack of control, launching just 32 of his 62 pitches for strikes while laboring his way through only two frames before Baltimore pulled the plug. It's worth mentioning he did sign with O's fairly late in the offseason, so Bassitt could still be shaking off some rust. He was also hit by a line drive from Oneil Cruz in the second inning Sunday but was able to stay in the game, and his next outing tentatively lines up against the Giants next weekend.

Braxton Ashcraft - Fans career-high eight in win Ashcraft (1-1) earned the win Sunday against the Orioles, allowing one run on four hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out eight.
Impact Ashcraft built off an impressive 2026 debut, when he gave up only two runs in six innings versus the Reds. The eight punchouts were a career high for the right-hander, who tossed 54 of his 87 pitches for strikes Sunday, Ashcraft surrendered no walks after walking three his first time out, and he'll be looking to cross the 90-pitch marker for the first time this year in a tough spot versus the Cubs in Chicago for his next scheduled outing.
