Ryan O'Hearn - Not starting Saturday O'Hearn will be on the bench for Saturday's game against Oakland.
Impact O'Hearn has only started once against a lefty who wasn't an opener this season, so it's no surprise to see him hit the bench here against Ken Waldichuk. Ryan Mountcastle will handle first base, leaving the designated hitter spot open for Adley Rutschman to rest his legs for the day.

Adam Frazier - Sits against southpaw Frazier will sit Saturday against the Athletics.
Impact With a lefty (Ken Waldichuk) on the mound for the opposition, Frazier will take up his usual spot on the bench. Since the start of June, the only two southpaws he's started against have been openers rather than true starters. Jordan Westburg will handle second base Saturday.

Anthony Santander - Not starting Saturday Santander (undisclosed) is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against Oakland.
Impact Santander left in the fifth inning of Friday's series opener, but the Orioles have yet to specify the reason why. It's likely he's dealing with some sort of injury, which also explains why he isn't in Saturday's lineup. Santander's return timeline won't become clear until the team explains the situation, but for now, it will be Ryan McKenna who starts in right field.

Impact The Athletics presumably want to see what Butler can do down the stretch as they think about building their roster for 2024 and beyond, but so far, they haven't been interested in seeing what he can do against same-sided pitching. He owns a .760 OPS through his first 25 big-league plate appearances but has sat against both lefties the A's have faced since his call-up, including Saturday's starter Cole Irvin. Esteury Ruiz will be the center fielder Saturday.
