Homers, three RBI Wednesday
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and a walk in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact
Garcia launched a three-run home run off J.B. Wendelken in the top of the ninth inning, his second long ball of the season. The 30-year-old also notched a single earlier in the game, notching his second multi-hit effort in his last three games. Garcia has now put together a five-game hit streak after going hitless in his prior four contests, raising his batting average from .171 to .204 in the process. After a strong season with Milwaukee in 2021, the Marlins hope that he can round back into form following a slow start to 2022.

On bench Sunday
Garcia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact
Garcia continues to struggle at the plate and will head to the bench after starting the past three games. Overall he has a .176/.211/.242 slash line with one home run and a 31.6 percent strikeout rate. Bryan De La Cruz will start in right field in his absence Sunday.

Idle Sunday
Garcia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact
Garcia is likely just getting some extra maintenance after starting in right field each of the past three days following a recent two-game absence due to a back injury. Bryan De La Cruz will enter the outfield Sunday as a replacement for Garcia, who will effectively get two days to rest up with the Marlins' next game not coming until Tuesday versus the Cardinals.

Returns to lineup
Garcia (back) is starting Thursday's game against the Phillies, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.
Impact
Garcia dealt with a back issue that kept him off the field for each of the last two games, but he'll return to action for Thursday's home opener. The 30-year-old went 2-for-13 with three strikeouts in his first three appearances of the season.

Managing back issue
Manager Don Mattingly said Garcia's back is feeling better, and the outfielder could be available to pinch hit Tuesday against the Angels, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald repo...
Impact
Garcia was kept out of the lineup Monday and Tuesday due to the back issue, but it doesn't appear to be a serious concern if the team is considering using him off the bench. Miami has a scheduled off day Wednesday, so the 30-year-old will have another day to rest up for the start of a four-game set Thursday versus Philadelphia.

Remains sidelined
Garcia (undisclosed) remains on the bench Tuesday against the Angels, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact
Garcia was scratched from Monday's lineup for unspecified reasons and will miss at least one more game. The Marlins have an off day Wednesday, so he'll end up getting at least three days off from whatever's ailing him. Brian Anderson will get another start in right field.

Late exclusion from lineup
Garcia (undisclosed) was scratched from Monday's lineup against the Angels, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact
Garcia was originally slated to bat cleanup as the designated hitter, but Garrett Cooper (wrist) will instead serve as Miami's designated hitter. There's been no announcement of an injury, so it could just be an early day off for Garcia, who is 2-for-13 through the first three games of the season.

Goes yard in spring opener
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Astros.
Impact
Houston didn't exactly send its best to Roger Dean Stadium, as Garcia's homer came off minor-league arm Jimmy Endersby, but it was still a nice way to start the spring schedule for one of Miami's big free-agent signings. Garcia posted the best power numbers of his career last season for the Brewers, slashing .262/.330/.490 with 29 homers and 86 RBI in 135 games, and the Marlins are hoping the 30-year-old can supply similar production in the heart of their order.
