Kyle Freeland - Cleared to start Monday Freeland (hip) has been confirmed as the Rockies' starting pitcher for Monday's game against the Giants, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Impact The lefty's most recent outing Sept. 1 against the Rangers was cut short due to a left hip impingement, but after receiving an injection to address the injury, Freeland looks to be pain free heading into the upcoming week. He was able to throw a bullpen session over the weekend without any discomfort, so Freeland shouldn't face any limitations heading into what's shaping up to be a two-start week. Freeland tentatively lines up to make his second turn of the week Sept. 11 in Philadelphia.
