Impact Kazmir was covering first base and appeared to turn his ankle. While the injury seemingly isn't serious, he is almost certain to not pitch again in the regular season and his status could be in doubt for the postseason. After Thursday's brief outing, Kazmir has a 6.35 ERA with a 10:6 K:BB across 11.1 innings on the campaign.

He likely would have been out of the lineup with a left-hander on the mound regardless, so he'll have the chance to return for Friday's contest. Wilmer Flores enters the lineup at first base and will hit seventh.

Tony Watson - Lands on 10-day IL Watson was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder strain Thursday, retroactive to Sept. 29.

Impact Watson had posted a 1.50 ERA and 0.50 WHIP in six innings across his last six relief appearances, but he apparently sustained a shoulder injury in his most recent outing and will be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season. The severity of the issue isn't yet clear, and whether he could be available as a postseason reliever remains to be seen.

José Quintana - DFA'd by San Francisco Quintana was designated for assignment by the Giants on Thursday.

Impact Quintana allowed five earned runs with a 12:6 K:BB over 9.2 innings since being claimed off waivers by the Giants in August, and he's now been removed from the 40-man roster with four games left in the regular season. It's been a disaster of a 2021 campaign for the veteran left-hander, who started the year with the Angels and posted a 6.75 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 73:29 K:BB across 53.1 innings before being let go and joining the Giants.
