Impressive again Saturday Morejon hurled three innings in Saturday's Cactus League contest versus Arizona, allowing one run on four hits and no walks while striking out five.
Impact Morejon surrendered a leadoff home run to Ketel Marte, but he had little trouble with the Diamondbacks thereafter. The southpaw has allowed only two runs through seven innings this spring while striking out 10. His six walks are worrisome, but Morejon eased some of that concern by refusing to yield a free pass Saturday. The 22-year-old is expected to break camp with San Diego, though his role has yet to be laid out. Morejon is in contention for a rotation spot, but he could also function in a multiple-inning relief role.

Solid start to spring Devenski (elbow) made his third Cactus League appearance in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Padres, striking out two over a perfect inning in relief.
Impact Devenski required surgery last September to remove a bone spur in his right elbow, but he reported to spring training at full health and looks well on his way to winning a spot in Arizona's bullpen, despite his status as a non-roster invitee. He's now tossed three scoreless frames so far this spring while allowing only three baserunners.

Feeling under weather Padres manager Jayce Tinger said Kim wouldn't be available for Sunday's game against the Reds after experiencing "some aches and pains," Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune...
Impact Tingler seemed to imply that Kim is dealing with an illness, though the skipper was careful to note that he doesn't believe the rookie is dealing with an ailment related to COVID-19. The Padres will give Kim a day off with the hope that he'll be ready to rejoin the spring lineup early during the upcoming week. Kim, who is off to a 2-for-18 start in Cactus League play, is in contention for the Opening Day starting nod at second base, though he, Jake Cronenworth and Jurickson Profar will most likely all serve as utility men that factor into the mix for playing time at multiple spots throughout the season.

Dealing with fractured finger Padres manager Jayce Tingler said Sunday that Nola has been diagnosed with a fractured middle finger on his left hand, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Impact Nola picked up the injury when he took a foul ball off his (left) glove hand Saturday. While the 31-year-old will likely be in line for a shorter absence than he would have if the injury had been to his throwing hand, the fractured finger could still hamper him enough defensively to result in him being shut down. Nola will receive treatment for the next couple of days before the Padres outline a timeline for his return to game action. His status for Opening Day would appear to be up in the air for the time being.

Sent to Triple-A The Diamondbacks optioned Peacock to Triple-A Reno on Sunday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Impact Arizona thought enough of Peacock's potential to protect him from the Rule 5 draft this winter, but the 27-year-old right-hander wasn't considered a serious threat to break camp with the big club. He'll get his first taste of Triple-A to begin the 2021 campaign after he submitted a 2.97 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 81 strikeouts in 115.1 innings at Double-A Jacksonville in 2019.

Heads to minor-league camp The Diamondbacks reassigned Moll to their minor-league camp Sunday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Impact Moll is expected to slot into the Triple-A Reno bullpen to begin the 2021 campaign. The 29-year-old lefty hasn't appeared in the majors since 2017, when he made 11 appearances out of the Oakland bullpen.
