Jazz Chisholm Jr. - Nearing rehab assignment General manager Kim Ng said Friday that Chisholm (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment next week, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.

Impact Chisholm resumed baseball activities Wednesday, and he could get some playing time in the minors before he returns to the major-league roster. Once the 23-year-old begins his rehab assignment, he'll likely be able to return to the Marlins shortly after. Ian Diaz should continue to serve as the primary second baseman while Chisholm is sidelined.

Impact Hernandez left his first start of the year with biceps inflammation but has been making steady progress towards a return to the mound. He threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday and is now ready to face hitters. His pitch count still isn't anywhere close to a starter's workload, however, so he has some work left to do before returning to game action.

Jorge Alfaro - Continues making progress Alfaro (hamstring) has been catching bullpen sessions and is scheduled to run and hit live pitching over the weekend, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Alfaro has been out since April 20 with a strained left hamstring. It's not clear exactly when he's supposed to return, but he's trending in the right direction and shouldn't be out for too much longer, barring setbacks.
