Corbin Carroll - Stays hot in win Carroll went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Marlins.
Impact Carroll singled and scored in the first inning and then belted his fifth home run in 10 games in the fifth. He has hit safely in eight of those 10 contests, logging three multi-hit efforts and crossing home plate 14 times. While the 24-year-old is still hitting just .221 on the season, his home run total now stands at 14 to go along with 51 RBI, 21 steals and 91 runs scored across 523 plate appearances.

Eduardo Rodriguez - Strikes out five in win Rodriguez (2-0) earned the win against the Marlins on Tuesday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts across 5.1 innings.
Impact While he generated an unimpressive nine swinging strikes, Rodriguez tallied a season-high 100 pitches before being pulled with two men on in the sixth inning. The southpaw has completed at least five frames in each of his three outings this season and owns a 3.94 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 11:4 K:BB in that span. He appears to be fully stretched out despite skipping a rehab assignment and lines up to face the Mets at home next week.

Alek Thomas - Placed on injured list Thomas was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Reno on Tuesday with a right oblique strain, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.
Impact After losing work in the majors to Jake McCarthy, Thomas was optioned to Triple-A last week in order for him to continue receiving regular reps. However, he is now expected to be sidelined for roughly four weeks as a result of his injury. The 24-year-old outfielder had gone 5-for-13 with a homer and two RBI in three games with the Aces.

Impact The transaction frees a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Luis Guillorme, who was signed Tuesday. Hollowell was a waiver claim by Arizona in June and holds a 3.63 ERA and 24:13 K:BB over 17.1 innings during his time at Triple-A Reno.

Luis Guillorme - Signing with Arizona The Diamondbacks signed Guillorme to a one-year contract Tuesday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Impact Per Alvarez-Montes, Guillorme is already with his new team at loanDepot Park in Miami, so it appears he will be active for Tuesday's game versus the Marlins. The Diamondbacks will need to make roster moves in order to add him to their 26-man and 40-man rosters. Guillorme, who was released by the Angels over the weekend, has a paltry .218/.285/.290 slash line in 138 plate appearances between Atlanta and Los Angeles. However, he offers a steady glove and gives Arizona an option at second base while Ketel Marte (ankle) is out.

Jake McCarthy - Goes deep in win McCarthy went 1-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored in Monday's 9-6 win over Miami.
Impact McCarthy belted a two-run homer in the eighth inning, his seventh blast of the season. He's made 12 consecutive starts and helped the Diamondbacks overcome underperforming outfielders Corbin Carroll (.219) and Alek Thomas (.191). During that 12-game stretch, McCarthy is batting .388/.436/.694 with four home runs, 18 RBI, nine runs and two steals.

Joc Pederson - Swats homer in win Pederson went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 9-6 win over the Marlins.
Impact Pederson swatted his 20th home run of the season in the fifth inning, giving him at least one RBI in four consecutive game. The lefty-swinging designated hitter is turning in a strong second half, posting a line of .356/.500/.780 over 23 games since returning from the All-Star break.
AUGUST 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Kevin Newman - Fills in second base again Newman started at second base and went 0-for-3 in Monday's 9-6 win over Miami.
Impact Newman filled in at second base for the injured Ketel Marte (ankle), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday. Newman, who had seen a spike in playing time while Marte was day-to-day for the previous 10 days, should be the primary second baseman while Marte is unavailable.

Brandon Pfaadt - Wins again Pfaadt (8-6) picked up the win Tuesday against Miami, allowing four runs on nine hits and two walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out four.
Impact Pfaadt's nine hits allowed tied his second most this season, and while he allowed four runs for a second consecutive outing, the right-hander stayed out of the loss column for a 10th straight start. On the year, Pfaadt has a 4.08 ERA and a 139:31 K:BB across 150 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Red Sox in Boston this weekend.
AUGUST 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Adrian Del Castillo - Plates six in win Del Castillo went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a two-RBI single during Monday's 9-6 win over the Marlins.
Impact Del Castillo's excellent rookie campaign got even better Monday, as he delivered his first career grand slam as part of a six-RBI day. The 24-year-old has homered in back-to-back games and is slashing .333/.405/.668 through 37 plate appearances. Del Castillo has been working on the strong side of a platoon with Ivan Herrera behind the dish, and with Gabriel Moreno (adductor) not close to returning, Del Castillo should continue to see plenty of catching work.
