Returns to lineup as DH Vaughn (hip) will bat ninth as the White Sox's designated hitter in Sunday's Cactus League game against the Rockies.

Impact Vaughn will check back into the spring lineup for the first time in a week, after he was forced to exit early in the White Sox's March 27 game against the Dodgers due to a right hip pointer. Though the injury no longer looks like it affects Vaughn at the plate, it's unclear if he'll receive full clearance to play the outfield (or first base) ahead of the White Sox's season opener Friday in Detroit. Regardless, the fact that Vaughn is available as a DH will likely be enough for him to avoid a stint on the injured list to begin the campaign.

Impact Vaughn's availability for Opening Day is still up in the air after the White Sox announced Monday that the 23-year-old is tending to a right hip pointer that will keep him from playing for 1-to-2 weeks. Though his status may not become clearer until next week, Vaughn's ability to do at least some baseball activity Wednesday is a positive sign. For what it's worth, Vaughn also noted that he feels "tenfold better" Wednesday compared to earlier in the week.

Impact Vaughn had to be carted off the field after making a diving catch in Sunday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers, but he seems to have escaped with nothing worse than a bruise. A trip to the injured list is still possible, as Opening Day falls right in the middle of his given timeline.
