Impact The left-handed-hitting Osuna had made nine straight starts in left field against right-handed pitching, but he'll grab a seat for Thursday's series finale. Ezequiel Duran will patrol left field and bat second for the Rangers.

Impact The Tigers are opening the game with a lefty (Tyler Holton) and could call upon another southpaw in Brant Hurter to cover multiple innings out of the bullpen, so the left-handed-hitting Osuna will be left out of the lineup Sunday. Andrew McCutchen will pick up the start in left field in place of Osuna, who has gone 4-for-16 (.250 average) with one double, two RBI, two runs and a 4:4 BB:K in eight games since being called up from Triple-A Round Rock on April 22.

Impact With Wyatt Langford (forearm) landing on the injured list, Osuna will rejoin the Rangers to provide depth in the outfield. The 23-year-old slashed .212/.313/.278 across 176 plate appearances in the big leagues last season but is off to a better start in the minors this year, posting a .709 OPS through 17 games.

Call-up awaits The Rangers are expected to recall Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock in the near future with Wyatt Langford (forearm) bound for the injured list, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Impact Osuna may not arrive in time for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, so the Rangers could wait until Thursday's series finale before placing Langford on the IL and making Osuna's call-up official. The 23-year-old Osuna bats from the left side and is capable of playing all three outfield spots, but it's unclear if the Rangers intend to use him on the strong side of a platoon or strictly as a backup. Ezequiel Duran will receive the starting nod at Langford's usual spot in left field Wednesday and has gotten off to a nice start at the dish this season, posting an .800 OPS over 51 plate appearances. Osuna, meanwhile, has been a so-so performer in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League with a .262/.355/.354 slash line to go with one home run and four steals over 77 plate appearances with Round Rock.

Impact Osuna hit .313 and swiped four bags over 13 spring games, but it wasn't quite enough to earn him a spot on the Rangers' Opening Day roster. He got his first taste of big-league action a season ago, slashing .212/.313/.278 with two home run, 15 RBI, five stolen bases and 12 runs over 63 games, and he should be in line for more big-league opportunities at some point this year.
