INJURIES

Fans two in no-decision Suarez came away with a no-decision in Sunday's win against the Padres, allowing three earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two batters in 4.2 innings.
Impact Suarez was staked a 6-0 lead in the third inning, but a rocky fifth frame prevented the veteran from earning his sixth win of the season. The 34-year old was not sharp with his command, throwing just 55 percent of his pitches for strikes while registering an ugly 2:3 K:BB. Suarez has struggled mightily over his last three starts, pitching to a 10.03 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 9:6 K:BB in 11.2 innings. The right-hander will look to bounce back in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next weekend in Cleveland.

Cleared to start Sunday Suarez (shin) will start in Sunday's game against the Padres at Camden Yards.
Impact Suarez won't be forced to miss a turn through the rotation after his most recent start Tuesday against the Mariners was cut short when he was struck in the right shin by a comebacker in the third inning. The right-hander suffered little more than a bruise to his lower leg and shouldn't face any restrictions Sunday. Suarez has taken losses in four of his last six starts, posting a 6.51 ERA and 1.77 WHIP over that stretch.

Dealing with bruised shin Suarez was diagnosed with a right shin contusion after getting hit by a comebacker during Tuesday's game against the Marlins, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Manager Brandon Hyde said after Tuesday's game that he expects Suarez to be fine -- a good indication that the 34-year-old righty will be able to make his next start against San Diego. He only lasted two-plus innings against Miami, allowing six earned runs while striking out three batters.

Leaves with leg injury Suarez was removed from Tuesday's game against the Marlins due to an apparent leg injury, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Suarez took a 102-mph comebacker off his right leg during the third inning of Tuesday's contest, and he was limping as he walked off the field alongside a trainer. An update on his status should be made available once the O's are able take a closer look at him. Prior to his removal, the 34-year-old righty allowed six earned runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three batters in two-plus innings.

Takes defeat Thursday Suarez (5-3) took the loss against the Cubs on Thursday, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four batters over five innings.
Impact Suarez allowed just one run through four frames before letting three runners cross the plate in the fifth. That was more than enough to send him to his third loss, as Baltimore's offense was unable to muster any runs against Justin Steele and a pair of Cubs relievers. Suarez had won two straight starts coming into Thursday, and he still has a nice 2.82 ERA across 70.1 frames this season, so his spot in what has been an injury-plagued rotation is seemingly secure.
JULY 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Captures fifth win Suarez (5-2) earned the win Friday against Oakland, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.
Impact The 34-year-old required only 86 pitches to collect his second consecutive quality start. He held the Athletics in check, as the only blemishes on his outing came via two solo shots yielded to Miguel Andujar and Shea Langeliers. Suarez now sports a 2.48 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 51:23 K:BB across 65.1 innings this season. He is currently slated to make his next start against the Cubs at home.

Awarded another start Suarez is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Rays at Camden Yards, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Suarez will get a second straight turn through the rotation after he returned to a starting role Saturday against the White Sox and struck out three over four scoreless innings in a no-decision. Because he had been working out of the bullpen throughout May before slotting back into the rotation last weekend, Suarez was lifted after just 80 pitches, but he should be able to provide the Orioles with more length Friday. Suarez will likely stick around in the rotation until the Orioles get one of John Means (forearm) or Dean Kremer (triceps) back from the 15-day injured list.

Fires 5.2 scoreless frames Suarez allowed three hits and no walks over 5.2 scoreless innings during Wednesday's 4-2 win versus Minnesota. He struck out four and didn't factor in the decision.
Impact The 34-year-old was a surprise selection to start Tuesday, which was his first MLB appearances since 2017, but he pitched well with 14 swinging strikes on 75 pitches and allowed just four baserunners. According to Jake Rill of MLB.com, manager Brandon Hyde said Suarez will get additional turns through the rotation, which isn't a major surprise given his performance and the numerous injuries Baltimore is managing to its rotation.

Latches on with Orioles Suarez signed a minor-league contract with the Orioles on Saturday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Impact Suarez will officially return to affiliated ball after spending the past five seasons overseas. He spent 2023 with the KBO's Samsung Lions, where he put up a 3.92 ERA and 1.49 WHIP through 108 innings, and he will presumably add to the Orioles' minor-league depth at Triple-A Norfolk.
