After the 30-year-old avoided arbitration with the White Sox by agreeing to a one-year, $2 million contract Tuesday, he looks set to fill at least a part-time role for the team in 2022. At this point, Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert and Andrew Vaughn look to have locks on everyday roles in two of the everyday spots in the outfield and designated hitter, leaving the likes of Engel, Leury Garcia and Gavin Sheets to jockey for playing time at the other outfield spot.
