Sitting out Wednesday
Amador is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.
Impact
Amador has been seeing most of the starts at second base for the Rockies of late, but he's yet to completely run away with a full-time job after batting just .158 with a 28.1 percent strikeout rate since being promoted from Triple-A Albuquerque in mid-April. Owen Miller will get the nod at the keystone Wednesday.

Heading to bench Sunday
Amador is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Impact
Amador had started at second base in four of the previous five games but will give way to Kyle Farmer in the series finale. Despite receiving fairly steady playing time in the middle infield since his April 13 promotion from Triple-A Albuquerque, Amador has been unable to get much going at the dish. Through his first 20 games, the 22-year-old rookie is slashing just .173/.246/.308 with one home run and one stolen base across 58 plate appearances.

Sitting out nightcap
Amador isn't in the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against Detroit.
Impact
Amador went 0-for-3 during a blowout loss in Game 1, dropping his batting average down to just .152 on the year. He'll grab a seat on the bench for the final half of Thursday's activities, opening up second base for Owen Miller.

Losing playing time
Amador is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Impact
On the bench for the third time in four games after slashing just .179/.238/.333 through his first 15 games of the season, Amador could be at risk of a demotion to the minors now that the Rockies have seemingly pulled the plug on him as an everyday player. Colorado will give Kyle Farmer the start at second base Sunday, and Owen Miller also remains in the mix for occasional playing time at the keystone.

Sitting down Thursday
Amador isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants.
Impact
Despite going 4-for-11 in his last three games, Amador will sit down for the third time in the last five days against Justin Verlander and the Giants. Kyle Farmer will fill in at second base and bat seventh.

Not starting Sunday
Amador is not in the Rockies' starting lineup against the Reds on Sunday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Amador will begin Sunday's contest in the dugout while Owen Miller starts at the keystone and bats ninth against Reds southpaw Nick Lodolo. Amador went 3-for-4 with a home run, a steal and two RBI in Saturday's loss to Cincinnati, and the 22-year-old is batting .214 over 32 plate appearances to start the season.

Homer and steal in loss
Amador went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double, a steal and two RBI in Saturday's 6-4 loss to Cincinnati.
Impact
The 22-year-old made his third consecutive start at second base and popped his first MLB homer off Hunter Greene in the fifth inning. Amador also pilfered his first bag of the season earlier in the game. The switch-hitter should continue to get regular playing time with the Rockies as long as Ezequiel Tovar (hip) remains on the injured list.

Getting regular run at 2B
Amador will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Royals.
Impact
After being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on April 13 when Tyler Freeman (oblique) was placed on the injured list, Amador initially looked on track to fill Freeman's role as a backup infielder. However, with Ezequiel Tovar joining Freeman on the IL less than a week later, Amador has moved into a near-everyday role in the middle infield alongside Kyle Farmer. Amador will make his seventh start in nine games Wednesday, but he's thus far done little with his opportunity, going 2-for-20 with no walks and eight strikeouts.

Hitless in season debut
Amador went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Sunday against the Padres.
Impact
Amador was summoned to the majors Sunday as Tyler Freeman (oblique) landed on the injured list and hit ninth while starting at second base. While he didn't make an impact with the bat, he did make a nice play with his glove. It's unclear how much Amador will play as Kyle Farmer has served as Colorado's primary second baseman, but Amador possesses an intriguing power-speed profile and is capable of making consistent contact.

Recalled by Colorado
The Rockies recalled Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
Impact
Amador will take the spot on the Rockies' 26-man roster vacated by Tyler Freeman, who was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left oblique strain. The Rockies rank last in the majors in runs scored (40) and have turned to prospects like Amador, Zac Veen and Chase Dollander to boost the offense. Amador was slashing .275/.408/.450 with two stolen bases, nine runs scored, two home runs and four RBI across 49 plate appearances in Triple-A before being promoted to the big club.

Set to be promoted to majors
The Rockies are set to recall Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of Sunday's game against the Padres, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Impact
The Rockies have already promoted top prospects Chase Dollander and Zac Veen in the early going this season and are once again dipping into their prospect pool as the team searches for offense. Through 49 plate appearances at Triple-A, Amador is slashing .275/.408/.450 with two home runs, four RBI, nine runs and four stolen bases. Amador figures to slot in at second base for the Rockies once his promotion becomes official.

Headed to Triple-A
The Rockies optioned Amador to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.
Impact
Amador surprisingly made the jump from Double-A Hartford to the majors last June, but he slashed just .171/.194/.200 over 10 games with the Rockies before being shut down with a right oblique strain. Once healthy, he was optioned back to Hartford, where he finished the season with a .227/.341/.373 slash line to go with 14 home runs and 35 stolen bases across 453 plate appearances. Though the Rockies non-tendered Brendan Rodgers in November, the team brought in Thairo Estrada on a one-year deal later in the offseason, and he projects to open the season as Colorado's everyday second baseman. However, given the minimal investment in Estrada, the Rockies likely won't hesitate to open up a full-time role for Amador once the organization is confident that he's ready for another look in the big leagues.

Activated, optioned to Double-A
The Rockies reinstated Amador (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and optioned him to Double-A Hartford.
Impact
Amador has been playing in rehab games with Hartford while working his way back from a right oblique strain, and he will remain with the Yard Goats now that he's made a full recovery. The 21-year-old went just 6-for-35 (.171) during his first career stint in the majors, and with a .659 OPS through 213 Double-A plate appearances, he clearly still needs more time to develop before he's ready for a more permanent role on the Rockies.

Ready for rehab assignment
Amador (oblique) was sent to Double-A Hartford to begin a rehab assignment Sunday.
Impact
Amador was shelved for a little over a week with a strained oblique but has been cleared to return to game action. He should be ready to be activated soon, but with Brendan Rodgers back from the IL, Amador is likely to remain with Hartford upon activation rather than return to the Rockies.
