Falls to Niemann in Korea Gooch lost on the first playoff hole to Joaquin Niemann at LIV Golf Korea to finish the tournament solo second.

Impact Gooch sat comfortably at the top of the leaderboard following a seven-under 63 in the second round, but he gained just one stroke the next day and entered Sunday tied with Niemann for first. Gooch and Niemann were neck-and-neck for most of the final round, with both players carding four birdies over the final eight holes. After dropping two shots, Gooch forced a playoff with a birdie on the 16th, but he was unable to match Niemann's birdie on the first playoff hole. Although he couldn't close things out in Korea, it was still the best finish of the season for Gooch, who sits ninth in the LIV Golf individual season standings. LIV Golf Andalucia is next week, where Gooch has won two of his three career titles on the breakaway tour (2023, 2025).

Impact Gooch shot under par in each of his four rounds, and he was able to sneak into the top-10 of the leaderboard after carding back-to-back birdies on his final two holes of the tournament. He ranked eighth in the field in both driving accuracy and scrambling and in the top-20 in birdies made and putts per hole. It was Gooch's first top-10 finish of the LIV Golf season, and the Smash GC captain has finished in the top-20 in each of the first four events of 2026. He'll tee off at LIV Golf South Africa next week.

Settles for T18 in Hong Kong Gooch posted an 11-under cumulative score at LIV Golf Hong Kong to finish in a six-way tie for 18th.

Impact Gooch opened the tournament with a seven-under 63, when he went five-under over the final five holes with three birdies and an eagle. However, the Smash GC captain was unable to carry that momentum over the rest of the tournament as he gained just four strokes over the last three rounds. Gooch has finished in the top-20 in each of the first three LIV Golf tournaments of 2026 and sits 19th in the individual standings with 42 points. He'll tee it up at LIV Golf Singapore next week, where he won in 2023 before finishing fourth and T29 in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

Gooch wasn't able to get it going in the final round, going even through 17 holes before finishing things off with a birdie on the par-4 18th. The worst part is that Gooch lost out on OWGR points, as those who finish in the top-10 of a LIV Golf tournament accrue points toward the world rankings. Gooch -- who took over for Brooks Koepka as the captain of Smash GC after the latter left for the PGA Tour via the Returning Member program -- will be in the field for LIV Golf Adelaide next week, where he won in 2023 but finished T26 and T51 in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

Impact Gooch has been around since the inception of LIV Golf back in 2022. He is a four-time winner on the breakaway tour and the Individual Champion back in 2023. Smash GC will have to sign one new player prior to the start of the 2026 campaign to go along with Gooch, Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. Koepka had one more year left on his LIV Golf deal, but wanted to prioritize his family instead of traveling around the globe another year.
