Impact Cantlay got off to a fantastic start with a bogey-free, five-under 65 in the first round, when he led the field in scrambling opportunities while ranking in the top-15 in both SG: Putting and SG: Around. However, Friday's round was a different story for the American, who lost 2.19 strokes in his approach game and another 1.63 strokes on the green while connecting on seven of 13 fairways. He still had a chance to make it to the weekend, but Cantlay's near 22-foot putt for birdie on the 18th hole missed by six inches. He's missed the cut in four of 15 tournaments this season, including the U.S. Open three weeks ago. Cantlay will tee off next week at The Open Championship, where he missed the cut last year at Royal Portrush.

Drops to T14 at Travelers Cantlay logged a one-over 71 in the final round of the Travelers Championship to finish tied for 14th.

Impact Cantlay entered Sunday tied for third on the leaderboard after rounds of 65-66-64. He was two-under through six holes in the final round but proceeded to drop three shots over his last 12 holes. He finished the tournament eighth in SG: Approach, T9 in scrambling, T13 in driving accuracy and T17 in birdies, though Cantlay also ranked 53rd out of 72 in SG: Around-the-Green. Still, it was a nice bounce-back performance for the American after missing the cut at the U.S. Open. It was the seventh top-15 finish of the season for Cantlay, who will next tee off in two weeks at the Scottish Genesis Open, where he finished T4 in 2022 before missing the cut in 2023, his last outing at the event.

Impact Cantlay had been on a good run with three consecutive top-15 finishes but will be unable to tee-it-up at Doral for an undisclosed reason. Michael Thorbjornsen will take his spot in the field. Cantlay's next opportunity to play will be at the Truist Championship, scheduled for May 7-10.

Impact Cantlay found himself near the top of the leaderboard with a 12-under cumulative score through the first three rounds, with his bogey-free, seven-under 64 score Friday being his best of the tournament. He struggled in the windy conditions Sunday, and despite a bogey on the 18th hole, Cantlay still held onto his spot in the top-10. He has five top-15s in nine tournaments this season and has finished T7-T12-T8 over his last three outings. He won't participate in next week's Zurich Classic but should be in the field for the next Signature Event, the Cadillac Classic, which kicks off April 30.
