Impact Matt was coming off the heels of a playoff victory over Scottie Scheffler at the RBC Heritage last week. Most of the top players in the world opted to skip the Zurich Classic in order to rest up for the next Signature Event, the Cadillac Championship, but Matt opted to stick it out in New Orleans with his brother. The duo entered Sunday with a four-stroke lead after tying the course record with a blazing 15-under 57 score Saturday, but they faced adversity in the final round to enter the 72nd hole in a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard. In the end, it was Matt who came up clutch, with his third shot from the green-side bunker landing within a foot from the hole, allowing Alex to seal the victory with a tap-in birdie putt. Matt is the first to three PGA Tour wins of the year, and his victory in New Orleans now has him at the top of the FedExCup Standings ahead of Scheffler; more importantly to Matt is the Zurich Classic win earned Alex a PGA exemption through the end of the 2028 season, which comes with exemptions to Signature Events, this year's PGA Championship and THE PLAYERS in 2027. Neither brother is currently listed in the field for the Cadillac Championship.
