Impact Griffin hasn't teed it up since a 48th-place effort at the Mexico Open in late February, but he's slated to return this week at the Houston Open where he won when the event was held elsewhere at the Golf Club of Houston in 2020.

Impact Griffin withdrew from this past week's Genesis Invitational on his 27th hole due to a pulled muscle in his right chest/back area, but he appears to have avoided a fracture to his ribs. If he's already feeling well enough to tee it up Thursday, it'll be just his second career Honda Classic appearance, having missed the cut in his PGA National debut back in 2018.

Impact Griffin underwent back surgery last August after dealing with a nerve issue for some time. His first start back was actually a T66 finish at the Bahamas Great Exuma Classic on the Korn Ferry Tour. He then returned to the PGA Tour and finished T37 at the Farmers Insurance Open. After a long week at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Griffin likely just needs to give his back a reset before going into the long haul.
