Matsuyama's streak of four consecutive top-10 results came to an end, but he remains 16th in the FedExCup standings ahead of next week's TOUR Championship.

Share of seventh at TPC Southwind Matsuyama posted a six-under cumulative score at the St. Jude Championship to finish in a five-way share of seventh.

Impact Matsuyama opened the FedExCup playoffs nicely with a four-under 66 first round, but he gained only two strokes over the final three days, culminating in a one-over 71 final round. Most of his strengths translated well to TPC Southwind, as he ranked T3 in driving accuracy, T8 in GIR and fourth and eighth in SG: Approach and Off-the-Tee, respectively. Matsuyama is normally known for his excellent short game, but he ended up losing 1.87 strokes in that category (58th out of 69 players) and lost another 2.25 strokes with his putter, which was 52nd in the field. Matsuyama's performance in Memphis was his fourth consecutive top-10 finish and moved him up four spots to 16th in the FedExCup Standings heading into next week's BMW Championship, where he finished T26 last year at Caves Valley Golf Club.
