Impact Cole found himself right on the three-under cut line heading into the final stretch of the second round. However, he carded a bogey on the par-4 seventh and was unable to gain the stroke he needed over his last two holes of Friday's round. Cole lost 3.63 strokes on approach over his two rounds at Detroit Golf Club and lost another 1.69 strokes off the tee, which outdid the strong work he did on the greens (SG: Putting of 4.49 strokes). Cole has missed the cut six times in 21 events this season, but it was just his second MC in his last 13 tournaments. He's listed in the field for next week's Wyndham Championship, where he's made the cut in three prior outings including a T7 in 2024.

Impact Cole was looking to bounce back from his performance at last week's Genesis Scottish Open (solo 70th). He got off to a slow start at Royal Birkdale with a six-over 76 opening round, but he managed to make the cut with a six-under 64 score Friday that included three-straight birdies from holes four to six and four more birdies from holes 10 to 13. Cole entered Sunday just outside the top-10 at four-under, but his final round was marred by back-to-back bogeys on holes 12 and 13 before a double bogey on the par-4 18th. His struggles in the final round mostly came off the tee, as he connected on just four of 14 fairways (28.6 percent) while losing 3.62 strokes off the tee. Since his playoff loss to Russell Henley at the Charles Schwab Challenge, Cole has finished 8-MC-T38-T39-70-T53. Cole was originally listed in the field for next week's 3M Open but will instead take a week off, with Charley Hoffman taking his spot at TPC Twin Cities.

T39 after barely making cut at JDC Cole carded a bogey-free, six-under 65 in the final round of the John Deere Classic to finish tied for 39th.

Impact Cole was one of the few top-50 players in the FedExCup Standings to tee off at TPC Deere Run, but it looked like he wasn't going to make the cut after opening the tournament with a five-over 76. However, he rebounded spectacularly with an eight-under 63 in the second round, with his eagle on the par-5 17th being enough for him to make the three-under cut line. He jumped 25 spots up the leaderboard Sunday thanks to his performance in the final round, but Cole will look for more consistency at the Genesis Scottish Open next week.

Impact Cole held his first 54-hole lead on the PGA Tour after a great round of 63 on Saturday. He did not show many signs of nerves on Sunday coming out with birdies on the first two holes. His only big mistake in the final round was his decision to go for the green out of the rough at the par-4 9th, which ultimately led to a double-bogey. Cole settled down after that and added a birdie and eight pars on the back-nine. Unfortunately for him, Henley made three straight birdies to finish and match Cole at 12-under. Henley continued that run and made another birdie on the first playoff hole, which Cole was not able to match. It's so tough to win on the PGA Tour, but Cole has to be pretty happy with the effort he gave on Sunday. The 37-year-old has now finished top 15 in four of his last five starts. He will be in the field for the Memorial Tournament next week thanks to this result.
