Impact Grillo was one-under through the first three rounds, but the 33-year-old Argentinian put it all together with a strong performance Sunday, which included three consecutive birdies from holes seven to nine. He finished the tournament T8 in birdies, ninth in SG: Off-the-Tee, T16 in GIR and T20 in SG: Approach. It was a much-needed performance from Grillo, who entered the Valspar Championship having finished T38 or worse in each of his first six PGA Tour tournaments of the season (including three missed cuts). He's in the field for the Texas Children's Houston Open, where he finished T47 in 2025, MC in 2020 and T3 in 2018.

This is the fourth time in six starts that he has lost strokes on the greens this year. Grillo was supposed to tee it up at the Puerto Rico Open next week, but will instead skip that and look ahead to THE PLAYERS Championship.

Loses in playoff Grillo closed with a final round four-under 67 at the John Deere Classic, losing on the first playoff hole to Brian Campbell.
Impact Grillo started the round one back of the lead and trailed for much of the day, but he moved into a share of the lead with four holes to play. However, a costly three-putt on the par-4 15th hole led to a bogey, and he narrowly missed a lengthy birdie putt on the 72nd hole to find himself in a playoff with Brian Campbell. Grillo made a mess of the first playoff hole, however, and Campbell's par was enough for the win. Nevertheless, it was an crucial week for Grillo as the runner-up result moves him to 64th in the FedExCup Standings.

Consistent play at Oakmont Grillo carded a final round three-over 73 Sunday to finish in a tie for 19th at Oakmont in the U.S. Open.
Impact Grillo came to Oakmont with three straight top-25 finishes under his belt thanks to some good ball striking and iron play. So it is fitting that Grillo was able to gather another top-25 finish at Oakmont. While his approach play wasn't as strong as it has been in recent weeks, the rest of his game showed some improvement compared to recent weeks and allowed him to gain strokes on the field in other areas. In fact, for the week, Grillo on average made small gains in every Strokes Gained category to finish with an average SG: Total of 2.08 strokes gained. This consistent play is exactly what Grillo has been showing recently, and is what allowed him to find some success at Oakmont. Don't be surprised to see Grillo near the top of the leaderboard in his next outing.
