Impact Morikawa came into the week looking for payback after the Arnold Palmer Invitational was snatched away from him at the end by Russell Henley. He put himself in great position going into the weekend after rounds of 70-65. Things all fell apart in windy conditions on Saturday when he shot a five-over 77 that included eight bogeys. It was a terrible putting performance for Morikawa who lost nearly four strokes on the greens in round three. He was able to bounce back with a good round on Sunday, however, and ended up getting a backdoor top-10. Morikawa was third in SG: Approach for the week and is hitting the ball well enough to win at any point. He last tasted victory on the PGA Tour back in the fall of 2023.
