T18 at The Open Championship
Morikawa carded a one-under 69 in the final round of The Open Championship to finish in a 10-way tie for 18th.
Impact
Morikawa did not produce an over-par round at Royal Birkdale, though he failed to gain a stroke across his 36 holes from Friday to Saturday. He led the field at The Open in driving accuracy, connecting on 73.2 percent of fairways while also ranking eighth in SG: Approach, 15th in GIR and 17th in SG: Putting. However, he also lost 2.29 strokes around the green, which was 69th out of the 78 players who made the cut. It's the third top-20 finish of the major season for Morikawa, who also finished T17 at the U.S. Open and T7 at The Masters, and he remains sixth in the FedExCup Standings. He's not listed in the field for the 3M Open next week.

Jumps to solo third at the Travelers
Morikawa fired a bogey-free, nine-under 61 in the final round of the Travelers Championship to finish solo third, one stroke behind Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland.
Impact
Morikawa improved his score as the tournament progressed, culminating in a spectacular final round. His performance Sunday was enough for him to enter the clubhouse with the lead and still had a chance to force a three-way playoff, but both Scheffler and Hovland finished with 21-under cumulative scores, and the duo will face off in a playoff Monday. Morikawa's 26 birdies were tied for most in the field, and he also led all players with an 88.9 percent GIR. He also finished second in driving accuracy, SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Approach and 15th in SG: Putting. It was the fourth top-5 finish of the season for Morikawa and first since the RBC Heritage (T4) in mid-April. He's got some momentum behind him following his performances at TPC River Highlands and the U.S. Open (T17). Morikawa is not listed in the field for the John Deere Classic next week but should tee off at the Genesis Scottish Open on July 9, which would serve as his tune-up for The Open Championship, which he won in 2021 at The Royal St. George's Golf Club.

T17 at the U.S. Open
Morikawa carded a two-over 72 on Sunday in the final round of the U.S. Open to finish at three-over par in a tie for 17th place.
Impact
Morikawa began his week at Shinnecock Hills with a three-over par 73, after making three bogeys and no birdies on the back nine. He responded beautifully in the second round as he recorded the lowest score in round two with five-under par 65, tying only one other player. Going into the weekend Morikawa was in a perfect spot to contend as he sat at two-under par for the tournament. As the course dried out and the conditions got tougher, Morikawa's game struggled, particularly with his approach play. This led to round of 73-72 on Saturday and Sunday. For the week, Morikawa was in the zone off the tee as he ranked 11th in SG: Off-the-Tee, but he was even better on the greens, ranking 9th in SG: Putting. What generally is Morikawa's strength, his approach play let him down this week. Still he will take a lot of good play into next week as he looks to contend at the Travelers Championship.

T29 at RBC Canadian Open
Morikawa closed with a one-under 69 on Sunday at the RBC Canadian Open to finish eight-under and tied for 29th.
Impact
Morikawa gained strokes across the board en route to 19 total birdies at TPC Toronto, and he's now gained over two strokes with the putter in back-to-back starts. However, he converted just 13 of 23 scrambling opportunities and he hit only 49 of 72 greens in regulation throughout the week. Morikawa will peg it again this week at Shinnecock Hills, and he's placed top-25 in five consecutive U.S. Open appearances dating back to a T4 in 2021.
