Wins season opener at Sony Open
Gotterup fired a six-under 64 in the final round to win the Sony Open in Hawaii by two strokes over Ryan Gerard.
Impact
Gotterup looked cool, calm and collected all day. He pulled off some tremendous shots and just kept making putt after putt. Ryan Gerard tried to make a later run at him, but Gotterup pretty much sealed the deal with a birdie at the tricky par-3 17th hole. This was the third straight season in which Gotterup has scored a victory on the PGA Tour. He led the field in SG: Off-the-Tee for the week at Waialae, and that tremendous driving with the combination of touch on and around the greens is why he can be a star in this game in the near future. Gotterup is not in the field for The American Express next week.

Disappointing showing in Japan
Gotterup carded a three-under 68 on Sunday at the Baycurrent Classic to finish tied for 40th place.
Impact
Gotterup struggled for a second straight year in Japan, as he recorded a pair of over-par rounds at Yokohama Country Club, which was yielding mostly low scores. He ranked second for the tournament in driving distance but had a poor week on the greens and only carded 14 birdies. Gotterup is next expected to play at the Hero World Challenge, scheduled for Dec. 4-7.

Notches top-10 finish
Gotterup closed with a four-under 66 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 10th place at the TOUR Championship.
Impact
Gotterup had struggled in the first two legs of the FedExCup Playoffs, but seemed to get back to form at the TOUR Championship. He led the field in driving distance and was also third in SG: Off-the-Tee, ninth in SG: Approach and T5 in GIR's for the week. Gotterup put together a very strong sophomore season on the PGA Tour that included picking up his second career victory at the Genesis Scottish Open. It was one of four top-10s and 13 top-25 finishes on the campaign. Gotterup has an outside shot at a Captain's pick for the U.S. Ryder Cup Team, but if not has certainly earned some time off. It will be fun to see what he has in store for 2026 now that he has the confidence he can compete and beat some of the best in the sport.

T33 at BMW Championship
Gotterup fired a two-under 68 on Sunday at the BMW Championship to finish six-over and tied for 33rd.
Impact
Gotterup averaged a disappointing 1.91 putts per GIR en route to just seven total par-breakers throughout his week at Caves Valley, though he finished 12th among the field in SG: Off-the-Tee and sixth in driving distance. He's certainly cooled off since his Win-3-T10 stretch from the Genesis Scottish Open to the 3M Open, but Gotterup will peg it again this week at East Lake for his TOUR Championship debut.
