T39 at St. Jude Championship Young carded an even-par 70 in the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship to finish tied with Justin Rose and Nick Taylor for 39th.
Impact Young finished fifth in last year's St. Jude, but the World No. 3 couldn't replicate that success this time around. He opened the event with consecutive one-under 69 scores before dropping two strokes in the third round, and he finished his final round with a double bogey, two bogeys and four birdies. Young struggled with his accuracy off the tee, connecting on only 26 of 56 fairways (46.4 percent) to rank T53 in the field. He also ranked sixth in driving distance, 11th in SG: Around and T19 in GIR, though he lost 1.87 strokes in his approach play (49th). Up next is the BMW Championship, where Young finished 11th last year and T15 in 2023.

Impact Young's maiden victory on the PGA Tour was at last year's Wyndham Championship. The three-time Tour winner was unable to replicate that success at Sedgefield Country Club this time around, though he ended the tournament nicely with a three-under 67 final round. Young led the field in driving distance and ranked T6 in scrambling and 10th in SG: Approach, but he lost a whopping 7.55 strokes with his putter, which ranked dead last out of the 81 players who qualified for the weekend. It's not the kind of momentum Young wants heading into the FedExCup playoffs, which begins next week at the St. Jude Championship, where he finished solo fifth in 2025.

Impact Young held the 36-hole lead following a bogey-free, nine-under 61 second round, when he went seven-under on the front nine with six consecutive birdies. However, he was unable to maintain that momentum over the weekend, gaining just two strokes over the last two rounds. Young kept his mistakes to a minimum, with his four bogeys tied for second-best in the field at Detroit Golf Club. He also ranked second in both scrambling and driving distance, eighth in SG: Off-the-Tee and 14th in SG: Approach, though he was below-average in SG: Putting, gaining just 0.10 strokes for the tournament. Young has made the cut in all 16 tournaments he's played in with eight top-10s, including wins at THE PLAYERS and the Cadillac Championship as well as a T3 at The Masters and runner-up at The Open, and he's third in the FedExCup Standings behind Scottie Scheffler and Matt Fitzpatrick. He's currently scheduled to tee off next week as the defending champion of the Wyndham Championship, which was his maiden victory on the PGA Tour.
