Impact DeChambeau opened the tournament with rounds of 67-65 to enter the weekend at the top of the leaderboard. He slipped down to one stroke back of Joaquin Niemann and Lee Westwood after a one-over 72 on Saturday, but DeChambeau bounced back with a five-under score Sunday. His birdie on the par-5 18th was enough to force a playoff with Lee, the latter of whom was aiming to become the first Wild Card player to win a LIV tournament. DeChambeau put himself on the back foot after his tee shot found the water, but he recovered nicely to go up-and-down for par. It looked like it was Lee's tournament to win when his third shot found the green, but after his 10-foot birdie putt missed to the left, his two-foot par putt inexplicably lipped out, handing DeChambeau the fourth LIV Golf victory of his career. Not exactly the way you would want to win, but beggars can't be choosers. With the victory, DeChambeau is second in the LIV Golf individual standings with 276.90 points, with the Crushers GC captain and the rest of the league chasing Legion XIII captain Jon Rahm (466 points). The LIV Golf league heads to South Africa next week for the first time.
