Commits to Kentucky Calzada committed to Kentucky on Thursday, Aaron Gershon of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Calzada was enrolled at Incarnate Word for his 2023 and 2024 seasons. The latter saw him log 343 completions for 3,744 yards and 35 touchdowns. Calzada also recorded 105 carries for 332 rushing yards and five rushing TDs, giving him 40 total for the year. Meanwhile, 2024 definitely warranted improvement at the quarterback position for Kentucky. Brock Vandagriff began this year's Wildcats season as their QB1 before he got benched for Cutter Boley, who was not much better. Perhaps their newest teammate could step up under center. It is worth noting Calzada is not a complete slouch at the FBS level, having logged 184 completions for 2,185 yards and 17 touchdowns for Texas A&M's 2021 team.
