Adds rushing score again Hammond completed 7 of 10 passes for 94 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 62-14 win against Kent State. He also had three rushes for 27 yards with one touchdown.
Impact Hammond added a rushing score in the second half, making it two weeks in a row. Starter Behren Morton played the entire first half while Hammond and Mitch Griffis played in the second half. Texas Tech's offense is explosive in 2025 and they have weapons all over the place, including the bench. They'll go up against Oregon State next week.

Impact Hammond replaced Behren Morton who left in the second quarter with a low hit to his leg and led two scoring drives. He dazzled with a long 64-yard rushing score and also had a touchdown pass to freshman Leyton Stone. If Morton does end up having any recurring issues with the leg injury, Hammond could see some increased opportunity over the next couple of weeks. Texas Tech will play Kent State next week.

Impact Hammond, who spent most of the season as the Red Raiders' backup signal-caller, got the start in the bowl game due to the absence of Behren Morton (shoulder). Hammond did what he could under center, but the drop in quality was noticeable. It's unclear what kind of role Hammond will have in 2025 if he chooses to remain with Texas Tech.

Impact Behren Morton (shoulder) is out, so it makes sense for Texas Tech's team to go to its backup quarterback for the Liberty Bowl. This is a prime opportunity for Hammond to showcase his talent, though the chance will definitely be far from an easy one. Relatively speaking, Arkansas' team has yet to be significantly affected by portal entries or bowl outs, and the Red Raiders will be without top wideout Josh Kelly (pro draft prep).

Impact Hammond was able to record his second rushing score of the season in the blowout of West Virginia. Starter Behren Morton threw for over 300 yards in his fourth game this year, so it doesn't appear he is any danger of being replaced at this moment. Texas Tech will finish the year in a bowl game.

Impact Hammond played a critical stretch of the game after Behren Morton exited the game with what is believed to be a collarbone injury. Hammond also had a lost fumble which could have gone either way after replay review. With dual-threat ability, Hammond is an interesting prospect and is worth a stash for fantasy rosters in case he plays for the Red Raiders at Iowa State next week.
