Impact Buckley was utilized heavily in the loss to the Mean Green, especially with the quarterback position struggling early on. The 5-foot-11 running back commanded the most carries for the Broncos by a long shot, which helped him surpass 100 yards for the first time this season. Western Michigan will likely lean on the run once again versus Illinois next week.

Impact Jones struggled a lot when he did play in the game against Mean Green, which lead to backup and rushing specialist Broc Lowry overtaking the starters' job eventually. It's unknown what the quarterback share will be moving forward, but it isn't unlikely that Jones may lose more reps to Lowry again at Illinois next week.

Impact The Broncos nearly put together a win versus the Mean Green, and this was in part thanks to Lowry's huge performance. The 6-foot-1 quarterback was given a solid passing role even as the QB2 heading into the season, and he shined especially with his two rushing scores. Lowry may start to overtake more of starting quarterback Brady Jones' reps moving forward, which could continue at Illinois next week.
