Impact Buckley didn't play in Western Michigan's romp over Rhode Island in Week 5. The tailback has a chance to return against UMass, but his status remains very much in question. In Buckley's absence, Devin Miles and Ofa Mataele took the majority of the carries last week.

Impact Mataele recorded his highest output game of the season in the blowout win, logging double-digit carries and punching in two touchdowns. The supplementary running back's bigger volume was definitely attributed to the nature of the game, and the fact that starting rusher Jalen Buckley (undisclosed) was sidelined. Mataele likely won't have a huge role moving forward unless Buckley stays out or the Broncos log another high-margin win.

Devin Miles - Finds end zone in blowout Miles recorded 12 rushes for 54 yards and one touchdown and hauled in all three targets for 22 yards during Saturday's 47-14 victory versus Rhode Island.
Impact Miles recorded his first touchdown off the season in the blowout win, which he scored at the end of the first quarter. The senior rusher's pop-up impressive game was most likely attributed to the nature of the game, but he did showcase solid skills as the Broncos' RB2. It's unknown how big his role will be when Western Michigan opens up conference play in the upcoming weeks.
