UTSA dominates Lamar 54-0 for first-ever shutout

Sincere McCormick rushed for two touchdowns to set a UTSA record, Josh Adkins passed for two scores and the Roadrunners rolled to a 54-0 win over Lamar, the first shutout in progra...

De'Corian Clark - Finds end zone Clark caught four passes for 38 yards and a touchdown against Lamar on Saturday.
Impact By the time Clark scored in the fourth quarter the game was entirely decided. This was a garbage-time touchdown and is not necessarily predictive for fantasy purposes.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Joshua Cephus - Tallies six receptions Cephus had six catches for 51 yards against Lamar on Saturday.
Impact Cephus had six catches for 73 yards in UTSA's season opener. When you see a player with 12 catches through two games, it intrigues from a PPR-league perspective.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Zakhari Franklin - Brings in touchdown Franklin caught four passes for 77 yards and a touchdown against Lamar on Saturday.
Impact Franklin was a focal point in Week 1, as he was targeted 16 times and caught 10 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown. This was a lighter night, but the statistics will still make fantasy players happy.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sincere McCormick - Scores twice in rout McCormick rushed seven times for 46 yards and two touchdowns against Lamar on Saturday.
Impact McCormick could have run all over Lamar in this game had he been given the chance. However, by halftime the Roadrunners were up 34-0. As such, UTSA figured they would risk the health of their star running back.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Frank Harris - Efficient in blowout Harris went 13-for-15 for 118 yards against Lamar on Saturday.
Impact Harris was efficient as UTSA crushed Lamar. The only downside for the quarterback is that he didn't get to partake in much of the fun. It was Harris' backup Josh Adkins who got to threw two touchdowns but that was in garbage time. That's just how the cookie crumbled for fantasy purposes.

Lone Star 12 post-Week 1: Texas' drama-free opener is noteworthy; UTSA makes its mark against the Big Ten How did the first full week of action shake up the weekly rankings of Texas FBS programs?

Joshua Cephus - Nets 73 yards Cephus caught six passes for 73 yards versus Illinois on Saturday.
Impact Cephus was the lead receiver for the Roadrunners in 2020 in terms of receptions with 58. However, Zakhari Franklin had more yards and touchdowns in two fewer games. Franklin is the lead receiver here, but there's enough space for Cephus to get his looks as well. They worked together well in 2020, after all.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Zakhari Franklin - Puts up big numbers Franklin caught 10 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown against Illinois on Saturday.
Impact Sure, Illinois isn't expected to be a good defense, but they are still a Big Ten team. This is an impressive way to begin the season. It may be a sign of things to come, too. Last season Franklin had 49 catches for 694 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 games. A full season, plus a full offseason? Franklin could be a breakout receiver.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Brenden Brady - Tallies two TDs Brady rushed 11 times for 67 yards and two touchdowns versus Illinois on Saturday.
Impact The two touchdowns are nice, but Sincere McCormick is the lead back here. McCormick had 31 carries in this game. Also, Brady has never had more than two touchdowns in a season, and this is his fourth year in college.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Sincere McCormick - Rushes for 117 yards McCormick rushed 31 times for 117 yards against Illinois on Saturday.
Impact McCormick was one of the best running backs in the country in 2020, at least based on sheer numbers in a vacuum. He rushed for 1,467 yards and 11 touchdowns in 11 games. The yardage total here is good, but McCormick didn't find the end zone. Instead, backup Brenden Brady scored twice. That likely won't be the case every week, though. McCormick will be just fine.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Frank Harris - Throws, rushes for TD Harris went 20-for-32 for 280 yards and a touchdown versus Illinois on Saturday. He also rushed eight times for 32 yards and a score.
Impact Harris has showed potential when he's been able to take the field for the Roadrunners, especially on the ground. Last year he rushed 95 times for 528 yards and nine touchdowns. As such, the rushing numbers in this game don't seem like a fluke. This is a dual-threat quarterback.

Lowell Narcisse - Still working back from injury Narcisse (ankle) is at about 75% as he returns from last season's ankle injury, JJ Perez of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Narcisse had season-ending surgery last October on his left ankle. He was limited to individual drills in spring and has still been battling to get back to full strength in the fall. It's unclear if Narcisse will indeed be available to start the season.
SEPTEMBER 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
De'Corian Clark - Ready to go for 2021 Clark is listed as a co-starter for Saturday's season opener against Illinois.
Impact Clark missed the bowl game last year due to an undisclosed issue. He finished 2020 with just eight catches for 58 yards, but is poised to do more as a junior.
AUGUST 30, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Frank Harris - Keeps hold of starting job Harris has been confirmed as the starter for UTSA, Greg Luca of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Impact As expected, it will be Harris under center for the Roadrunners to begin the season. He completed 63.6 percent of his passes and accounted for 21 total touchdowns in 11 games last year.
AUGUST 24, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Brenden Brady - Back in action Brady (undisclosed) participated in spring practice, JJ Perez of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Brady is set to return for his senior year after battling injury in 2020. He averaged a career-best 4.8 yards per carry and finished with 239 yards and a score in six appearances. He will be the direct backup to star running back Sincere McCormick.
AUGUST 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Kaedric Cobbs - Clear for practice Cobbs (lower body) has been cleared to take part in practice, JJ Perez of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Cobbs left the First Responder Bowl last season due to injury but appears to be healthy for fall camp. He turned in 11 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown in 2020 and could see occasional looks again this year. However, Sincere McCormick figures to head the Roadrunners' backfield again.
AUGUST 10, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Lowell Narcisse - Practices Friday Narcisse (ankle) participated in practice Friday, JJ Perez of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Narcisse was limited to individual drills during spring practice after he underwent surgery on his left ankle in October of 2020. However, he should be healthy heading into camp and is expected to compete for the starting job under center to begin the year.

Kennedy Lewis - Announces next destination Lewis announced Thursday via his personal Twitter page that he is transferring to UTSA.
Impact Lewis had just one catch for 37 yards in two years with the Longhorns and redshirted this past season. He's got a ton of speed and will look to make a bigger impact at UTSA while establishing some chemistry with quarterback Frank Harris before the 2021 campaign gets underway.
