Hahsaun Wilson - Logs one snap Wilson (undisclosed) was held to a single snap during UTEP's 35-17 victory over Sam Houston on Wednesday.
Impact Wilson has seen his production tumble over recent weeks but was a complete non-factor agaisnt the Bearkats, playing just a single snap without a rushing attempt. The 5-foot-11 running back may be dealing with an undisclosed injury but details are thus far unknown. He will remain questionable for next week's matchup against Kennesaw State.

Wondame Davis Jr. - Nets 79 yards Davis caught three passes for 79 yards against Sam Houston on Wednesday.
Impact The redshirt freshman only has seven catches and 13 targets over the last three games. However, he has some big-play skills, which will keep him in the mix, even if he isn't the number-one option.

Kenny Odom - Reels in 10 catches Odom caught 10 passes for 67 yards and a score and ran three times for 25 yards against Sam Houston on Wednesday.
Impact Given that Skyler Locklear was under center and he targeted Odom 11 times, things are looking up for Odom. The receiver started the season strong, but last year he and Locklear (and some others under center) combined for 46 catches for 741 yards and eight touchdowns.

Ashten Emory - Takes advantage of opportunity Emory ran 15 times for 96 yards and a touchdown against Sam Houston on Wednesday. He also caught two passes for 22 yards.
Impact Emory, a redshirt freshman, has seen erratic usage this season. However, with an easy matchup on the docket, Emory got his most touches on the season. To his credit, the back also took care of business against a terrible defense.

Skyler Locklear - Totals four TDs Locklear went 21-for-26 for 236 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception against Sam Houston on Wednesday. He also ran 13 times for 48 yards and two touchdowns.
Impact This may make you wonder why it took so long for the UTEP staff to turn from Malachi Nelson back to Locklear. However, a grain of salt or two is necessary. It appears that Sam Houston is the worst FBS team this season, so Locklear really just took care of business as opposed to impressing.

Impact Ezinwa was initially listed as out for the Week 7 matchup against Liberty, but he ended up playing and catching the two targets that went his way. That puts him in a good position to be available for the Week 8 contest against Sam Houston on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

Impact Odom is clearly the lead receiver for the Miners, but the quarterback play is so bad down in El Paso that he can't really get any juice on the field. He has 12 catches over his last three games, but for 79 yards and zero touchdowns.

Impact Nelson was demoted to the backup role as fellow signal caller Skyler Locklear earned starting reps for the Miners against Liberty on Wednesday. Nelson didn't look great in his appearances against the Flames, completing just 40 percent of his passes for 21 total yards, though Locklear didn't exactly light the world on fire in the passing game either (90 yards, two interceptions). Nelson will hope to make the most of his opportunities to earn back the starting gig, starting with a matchup against Sam Houston State next Wednesday.

Skyler Locklear - Struggles in first start Locklear was 9-for-17 passing for 90 yards and two interceptions during Wednesday's 19-8 loss to Liberty. He also had eight rushes for 58 yards with one touchdown.
Impact Though Locklear made his first start of the season against Liberty on Wednesday, the game turned out to be one he will likely want to forget. The 5-foot-11 quarterback struggled to get things going against the Flames, totaling just 90 yards through the air while throwing a pair on interceptions without a touchdown. He did manage to find the end zone on the ground, however, crossing the goal line on a 13-yard scamper in the fourth quarter to bring UTEP to within 11. Locklear looks set to continue to compete with fellow signal caller Malachi Nelson for the starting job, with his next opportunity coming against Sam Houston State next Wednesday.
