Receives clearance from NCAA Edwards (not injury related) has received an additional year of eligibility to compete in 2025, CBS Sports reports.

Impact Edwards was initially deemed ineligible to play this season but challenged the ruling and won. Edwards has not been able to practice with the team up to this point and will likely need some time to ramp up. Once he's ready to go, he's expected to slot in for short-yardage situations in the backfield.

Impact Edwards transferred to Morgantown over the winter, but he hasn't been deemed eligible by the NCAA a couple of weeks into camp. Edwards was expected to claim the goal-line and short-yardage carry situation for the Mountaineers, so his absence would certainly be a notable one. Callihan mentions Diore Hubbard or Ferris or Ferris State transfer Kannon Katzer as potential replacements for Edwards around the goalline

Impact Edwards will join the Mountaineers after a standout season with Northern Iowa this fall. The 6-foot-4 graduate transfer, who compiled 159 carries for 1,022 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, will look to compete for a role with the Mountaineers next fall.
