Baylor Hayes - Throws a touchdown in first start Hayes was 23 of 36 passing for 219 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 19-12 win versus Oklahoma State. He also had seven rushes for 23 yards.
Impact Even in a tough environment at Oklahoma State, Hayes filled in seamlessly for Kirk Francis (concussion), throwing for over 200 yards for the first time in his career. The redshirt freshman showed he is a capable backup in case Francis can't recover from his concussion before next week's game.

Impact As expected, Francis is out due to the concussion he suffered in the Week 3 loss to New Mexico State. Baylor Hayes will get the start for the Golden Hurricane. Francis' next chance to play will come in Week 5 when Tulsa hosts Tulane on Saturday, Sep. 27.

Impact Kirk Francis (concussion) is out Saturday. So instead of him at starting quarterback, Tulsa's team requires a different QB. It will be Hayes, whose 2025 season's lone game includes 151 all-purpose yards (129 passing and 22 rushing) and two touchdowns.
