Will Wallace - Scores in defeat
Wallace caught three passes for 27 yards and a touchdown against Oklahoma.
Impact
After rarely being used throughout his time at Tulane, Wallace was able to find the end zone in the loss. The 6-foot-4 tight end figures to be the second option at the position behind Tyrick James, but it was an encouraging start to the season for Wallace

Shae Wyatt - Solid debut
Wyatt caught five passes for 58 yards versus Oklahoma.
Impact
After transferring from Central Missouri, Wyatt impressed in his first Division I football game. The 6-foot-1 receiver caught five balls for 58 yards, good for second on the team in both of those categories. Wyatt looks to compete with the likes of Jaetavian Toles, Phat Watts and Deuce Watts for more playing time as the year goes on.

Tyrick James - Sets career highs in loss
James caught six catches for 93 yards against Oklahoma.
Impact
The 6-foot-2 tight end set career highs in both receptions and yardage in the loss against the Sooners. James' start to the season bodes well for him as he looks to continue to build a connection with quarterback Michael Pratt throughout the season.

Tyjae Spears - Six carries in return
Spears carried the ball six times for 20 yards while catching three passes for six yards against Oklahoma.
Impact
After an ACL injury cut his 2020 season short, Spears made his return to the field against Oklahoma. The 5-foot-10 running back only mustered 23 yards of total offense but it was encouraging to see him back in action. It appears that Spears will be the second running back in the offense behind Cameron Carroll as the season progresses.

Cameron Carroll - Finds end zone twice
Carroll ran for 31 yards on 10 carries as well as catching four passes for 19 yards and adding two receiving touchdowns against Oklahoma.
Impact
After a strong 2020 season averaging 6.1 yards per carry, Carroll struggled on the ground with only 31 yards on 10 carries. However the 6-foot-0 running back was able to score two receiving touchdowns and garnered seven targets in the loss. Carroll seems to be the lead running back for Tulane this year and will look to improve upon his week one performance next week against Morgan State.
