Staub has committed to play for Tennessee for the 2026 season, per Pete Thamel of ESPN.com.
Impact
Staub will join the Volunteers following three seasons with Colorado. Tosses two picks on two attempts
Staub was 0-for-2 passing for zero yards and two interceptions during Saturday's 52-17 defeat to Arizona.
Impact
With the game well out of hand coming out of halftime, Staub was given a chance to take over the offense. He did not take advantage of his opportunity as he attempted two passes and threw interceptions on both attempts. He was then benched for the rest of the game with true freshman Julian Lewis getting a chance. After a rough showing, it would not be surprising if Lewis overtook Staub on the depth chart.

Slated for backup duty
Based on pregame warmups, Colorado won't be starting Ryan Staub in Saturday's game against Arizona, Justin Spears of the Arizona Daily Star reports.
Impact
Staub entered in relief of Kaidon Salter last week and delivered the Buffaloes' lone touchdown. Despite Staub statistically outperforming Kaidon Salter in Week 9, Colorado is sticking with the true freshman in Week 10. While there hasn't been any outright acknowledgement of a quarterback battle, Staub could threaten to take the job if Salter continues to struggle.

Deion Sanders: Colorado must 'flush the darn toilet' after 53-7 loss at Utah
Deion Sanders has been pushing and motivating his team after a 53-7 loss to Utah

Scores TD in relief
Staub completed 4 of 8 passes for 65 yards during Saturday's 53-7 defeat to Utah. He also had six rushes for negative four yards with one touchdown.
Impact
After a very rough three quarters by Kaiden Salter, Staub entered the game in the fourth quarter and led three drives. He had more passing yards (68) than Salter (37), and he scored the Buffaloes' lone touchdown with a one-yard rush in the fourth quarter. He will likely return to the bench for Saturday's game versus Arizona, but Salter's poor performance opened a door for Staub to potentially steal the job late in the season.

Not expected to start Week 4
Staub is not expected to be Colorado's starting quarterback Saturday against Wyoming, Matt Zenitz of CBSSports.com reports.
Impact
Staub started under center for Week 3 but struggled, logging more interceptions (two) and fumbles (two) than touchdowns (one). He also completed less than 60.0 percent of his passes at Houston then. With those in mind, Kaidon Salter is expected to be Colorado's starting quarterback in Week 4, relegating Staub to backup duties once again.

Struggles in first start
Staub was 19-for-35 passing for 204 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Friday's 36-20 loss to Houston. He also had 11 rushes for 36 yards.
Impact
Staub drew his first start of the season Friday and did not exactly firmly establish himself in that role based on his performance. He threw for over 200 yards and tossed a touchdown, but he threw two interceptions and fumbled twice, although both fumbles were recovered by his team. He was the only Buffaloes' quarterback to play in the game which may be a sign that he will keep the job for now and try to get in rhythm with the offense.
