Impact Browne had a rough showing against Oregon while filling in for the injured Hudson Card, tossing for 93 yards on 47.4 percent completion with no touchdowns and an interception. Still, he appears to be in consideration to start after Purdue's Week 9 bye, as although Card is practicing, he didn't immediately re-assume his role as the starter in practice. Head coach Ryan Walters said "both of them give us a shot," so it sounds as if the Purdue coaching staff has yet to make up its mind on what quarterback it will roll with after the week off.

Impact Browne was coming off an electric performance during the second half of last week's 50-49 loss to Illinois. But, he faced a much tougher opponent in his second career start and it reflected on his final stat sheet. Browne adds a new element to this offense with his rushing ability, but that doesn't fix the underlying issues for a Boilermakers offense that lacks the talent to compete with the best-of-the-best. He should be in line to make his third career start if Hudson Card remains in concussion protocol for next week's game against a Northwestern squad that just lost 23-3 versus Northwestern.

Starter for Oregon game Browne will be the Boilermakers' starting quarterback for their game Friday against Oregon, Tom Dienhart of On3 reports.

Impact Browne was the Boilermakers' starting quarterback for their latest game. He logged 18 pass completions for 297 yards and three touchdowns. Browne also recorded 118 rushing yards, resulting in more than 400 of them in plays from scrimmage. Even if Hudson Card (concussion) is available, Browne has done more than enough to earn another start under center for the Boilermakers.

Impact Browne made his first career start with Hudson Card sidelined by a concussion. He and the entire Boilermakers' offense came to life in the third quarter after totalling nine passing yards in the first half. The redshirt freshman hit touchdown passes of 53, eight and 13 yards in the second half. He also established a strong connection with tight end Max Klare, who caught six of eight targets for 133 yards, including a 62-yard connection on a double-reverse flea flicker in the third quarter and a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter. Browne also finished with a team-high in rushing yards ahead of running back Devin Mockobee, who logged 11 carries for 102 rushing yards. With Hudson Card's status still up in the air, Browne may need to start again for the Boilermakers next week, though they'll be going up against the now No.1-ranked Oregon Ducks.
