Auburn has a Bullish rebuild taking place on the Plains under new coach Alex Golesh

New Auburn coach Alex Golesh has plenty of familiar faces around for his debut season

Commits to Auburn Davenport has committed to Auburn, AL.com reports.

Impact Head coached by Alex Golesh during an excellent 2025, Davenport will follow his HC to Auburn. During the year, he logged 98 rushing attempts for 612 yards (6.2 averaged per carry) and seven touchdowns. Even if fellow running back Jeremiah Cobb remains enrolled at Auburn, the Tigers' 2026 season featuring a lot of Davenport usage should not be surprising.

Entering transfer portal Davenport is entering the NCAA's transfer portal, Hayes Fawcett of On3 reports.

Impact For 2025, Davenport transferred colleges to South Florida from a non-FBS team. Considering the running back's 600-plus rushing yards and eight touchdowns for USF, it is safe to say the transfer paid off. With that in mind, him testing his portal luck should not come as such a surprise. Davenport has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining.

Impact Davenport's struggles encapsulate the Bulls' struggles moving the ball in the bowl game, tallying just 10 points in the contest. The sophomore running back closes out 2025 with 98 carries for 612 yards and seven touchdowns, adding five catches for 50 yards. The question now changes to whether or not he'll return to the Bulls in 2026, with head coach Alex Golesh taking the head coaching job at Auburn.

Impact Davenport found the end zone once again this week, as he now has four touchdowns over the last four games. His 11 carries also led all Bulls running backs. The sophomore heads into the postseason with 603 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 91 carries.
