Mark Fletcher Jr. - Easy, efficient day in win Fletcher tallied seven carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns during Thursday's 77-7 victory against Florida A&M.

Impact Fletcher only needed seven touches to surpass 100 yards and notch two touchdowns. Miami didn't need to see much else from its top ball-carrier against an extremely overmatched Florida A&M team. Fletcher should see a bigger workload in Week 3 on the road against Wake Forest.

Javian Mallory - Leading rusher in huge win Mallory posted 10 rushes for 142 yards and two touchdowns during Thursday's 77-7 victory over Florida A&M.

Impact Mallory was the Hurricanes' top ball-carrier in a completely dominant victory. The freshman didn't get a chance to make much of an impact in Week 1, but his 10 carries led the way for the Hurricanes' backfield and that's all he needed to rack up 142 yards. If Mallory continues to shine, he could begin to push CharMar Brown for carries in a more competitive game.

Luke Nickel - Three touchdowns in relief Nickel completed 8 of 8 passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns during Thursday's 77-7 victory versus Florida A&M.

Impact Nickel shouldn't play all that much this season except for in late-game blowouts, but he completed every single pass he threw while tossing for three touchdowns against hapless Florida A&M in relief of Darian Mensah, who had another stellar day through the air.

Darian Mensah - Another stellar day Mensah was 14-for-15 passing for 252 yards and three touchdowns during Thursday's 77-7 victory against Florida A&M. He also had two rushes for 21 yards.

Impact It was only FCS Florida A&M, but Mensah looked unbelievable once again for Miami. In the opener, he threw for more touchdowns (five) than he did incompletions (three). He continued that trend in Week 2, with just one incompletion and three touchdown passes. Mensah's start to the 2026 campaign has been essentially flawless, but the competition begins to get at least marginally tougher in Week 3 as Miami must travel to face Wake Forest.

Jordan Lyle - Not expected to play Thursday Lyle (not injury related) is not expected to play Thursday versus Florida A&M, journalist Geo Milian reports.

Impact Lyle is currently facing a misdemeanor charge for reckless driving which is likely the reason he's set to miss his second consecutive game to start the season. While his situation remains fairly murky, his next chance to suit up is next Friday at Wake Forest.

Jordan Lyle - Charge dropped to misdemeanor Lyle has been charged with a misdemeanor following his arrest for a high-speed driving incident in August, Local 10 News reports.

Impact Lyle was originally charged with a felony charge for fleeing police and allegedly accelerating to speeds of around 130 miles per hour, but the felony charge has been dropped and now he's facing a misdemeanor reckless driving charge. His status for Thursday's game is still a major question, as is whether he will face any discipline from the team. He isn't expected to have a major role in the Hurricanes' offense this season if he is able to play.

Daylyn Upshaw - Good start to 2026 Upshaw caught all three targets for 30 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 45-6 win versus Stanford.

Impact Upshaw battled for a starting role all offseason, and he got his chance to show what he can do Friday night against a rather hapless Stanford defense. Hurricanes' superstar receiver Malachi Toney stole the show with 234 receiving yards and three touchdowns, but Upshaw proved reliable as well.

Cooper Barkate - Solid Hurricanes debut Barkate caught 4 of 5 targets for 67 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 45-6 win versus Stanford.

Impact Barkate had a solid day through the air, finding the end zone and reeling in all but one of his targets. Still, he was overshadowed by superstar Hurricanes receiver Malachi Toney, who scored three times on well over 200 yards receiving. Barkate's chemistry with Mensah from the pair's Duke days was evident, however, and despite having to share the field with one of the best players in the sport in Toney, Barkate should remain plenty productive all season long in what looks like an exceedingly dangerous Miami offense.

Malachi Toney - Ridiculous performance in opener Toney caught 12 of 13 targets for 234 yards and three touchdowns during Friday's 45-6 victory versus Stanford.

Impact Toney was already widely considered one of the best wideouts in the entire country. Friday night, he played like we'd already forgotten. He had more than half of quarterback Darian Mensah's 401 passing yards; he'd never surpassed 200 receiving yards before, and his three touchdowns were also a career high. Toney looks like he could be poised for a potentially historic wide receiver season in Coral Gables.

CharMar Brown - Hits paydirt in win Brown had eight rushes for 37 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 45-6 win over Stanford.

Impact Brown, like the rest of the Hurricanes' ground game, was rather quiet in the blowout win over Stanford. It was Miami's passing offense, and the budding connection between Darian Mensah and Malachi Toney, that did most of the damage offensively. Still, Brown found the end zone and remains the firm RB2 in this offense, which, given how explosive it appears to be, remains enticing from a fantasy perspective.

Mark Fletcher Jr. - Quiet in debut Fletcher notched 13 rushes for 40 yards and caught all two targets for 10 yards during Friday's 45-6 win against Stanford.

Impact Fletcher only totaled 50 yards as the Hurricanes hung 45 points on Stanford. He was the team's leading rusher, though Miami used a variety of backs while only picking up 121 yards on the ground despite the blowout victory. Friday night in Palo Alto was more about the Hurricanes' passing attack, which accounted for over 400 yards and five touchdowns. Still, expect Fletcher's involvement in this offense to increase in more competitive games, as he remains the clear top ball-carrier.

Darian Mensah - Erupts in Hurricanes debut Mensah completed 27 of 30 passes for 401 yards and five touchdowns during Friday's 45-6 win versus Stanford.

Impact Mensah was almost perfect during Miami's dominant Week 1 win over Stanford. He had multiple more touchdowns than incompletions, and essentially never put the ball in harm's way. We knew what the former Duke quarterback was capable of given his skillset, but he'd never thrown for 400 yards or five scores in a single game before. Stanford isn't exactly the most-feared defense in the ACC, but Mensah's performance should terrify the rest of the conference.
