Malachi Hosley News, Rumors, Updates - Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Ruled out for Saturday Hosley (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's game at Stanford, per the ACC availability report.

Impact Hosley will miss his first game of the season and now fellow running backs Trelain Maddox and Shane Marshall should split his workload. He has an upcoming bye week that he'll use to his advantage to recover for his next chance of playing Otc. 10 against Duke.

Questionable vs. Stanford Hosley (undisclosed) is questionable for Saturday's game at Stanford, per the ACC availability report.

Impact Hosley is in jeopardy of missing his first game of the season Saturday. The running back is currently the backup to Justice Haynes, registering 16 attempts for 61 yards thus far. He still has time to recover in the following days to improve his status.

Logs double-digit carries Hosley tallied 11 carries for 63 yards and hauled in their only target for 13 yards during Saturday's 25-21 loss versus Brigham Young.

Impact For only the fourth time in 2025, Hosley logged double-digit carries, which he recorded 98 of this year. He also registered 816 all-purpose yards (697 rushing and 119 receiving) and seven touchdowns, all rushing. Despite limited opportunities, it is safe to say that Hosley betting on a big move from Penn to Georgia Tech worked out for him.

DECEMBER 30, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Stymied by Dawgs Hosley compiled three carries for six yards and hauled in their only target for negative one yard during Friday's 16-9 loss versus Georgia.

Impact Hosley had been excellent this year, but he'll unfortunately close out the regular season with two straight duds after getting bottled up by Pitt and then completely shut down by Georgia. The Yellow Jackets finish 2025 outside of contention for an ACC title and the playoffs, but the tailback will get one more chance to play in Georgia Tech's bowl game.

DECEMBER 2, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Completely bottled up vs. Pitt Hosley tallied one carry for three yards and hauled in 3 of 4 targets for 12 yards during Saturday's 42-28 defeat versus Pittsburgh.

Impact Georgia Tech usually lives and dies by the ground game, but considering it went down 28-0 early on, the Yellow Jackets didn't get to establish the run. Unsurprisingly, that led to a quiet day on the ground for Georgia Tech tailbacks but specifically Hosley, who had his worst rushing performance of the season. He'll look to bounce back next week in a tough matchup with Georgia.

NOVEMBER 24, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Eclipses 100-yard mark Hosley logged 15 rushes for 107 yards and one touchdown and caught 3 of 4 targets for 47 yards during Saturday's 36-34 win against Boston College.

Impact Hosley surpassed 100 yards for the first time since Week 7. The tailback also saw a season-high in carries with 15, pacing the Yellow Jackets' backfield while Jamal Haynes was limited to just five carries. Haynes appears to be falling out of favor in this backfield, while Hosley is gaining traction.

NOVEMBER 17, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Contained on the ground Hosley posted six rushes for 30 yards and caught their only target for 16 yards during Saturday's 48-36 loss versus North Carolina State.

Impact Hosley has been extremely hot and cold this season, and he had a down performance in Week 10 as Georgia Tech dropped its first game of the season. The Yellow Jackets' ground game didn't exactly struggle, as quarterback Haynes King topped 100 yards rushing, but their running backs were largely neutralized. Hosley will look to bounce back in Week 12 after a bye against lowly Boston College.

NOVEMBER 3, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

81 yards on eight touches Hosley totaled eight rushes for 81 yards during Saturday's 41-16 win versus Syracuse.

Impact Georgia Tech played plenty of its tailbacks in the blowout win over Syracuse, but Hosley was still the leading rusher on just eight carries. Jamal Haynes also got involved on the ground but was once again completely bottled up for the second straight week. At this point, the Yellow Jackets' backfield might be tipping in favor of Hosley as Georgia Tech tries to close out its dream season strong.

Scores in win Hosley recorded 11 carries for 23 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 27-18 victory over Duke.

Impact Hosley was completely stymied on the ground save for a 10-yard scamper to the end zone. The backup tailback now has 11 carries in back to back games, and seems to be gaining some ground in the Yellow Jackets' backfield as Jamal Haynes was limited to eight touches on the ground against Duke. He'll look to keep it up against Syracuse in Week 9.

Out-shines Haynes in win Hosley had 11 rushes for 129 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 35-20 win over Virginia Tech.

Impact Georgia Tech's backfield is a two-headed monster -- three if you count Haynes King, who is a dynamic rushing threat himself. Regardless, the one-two punch of Hosley and Jamal Haynes continues to be extremely effective for the Yellowjackets. While Haynes had more carries (14), Hosley was the star of the backfield Saturday with a season-high 129 yards. He's had some dud weeks, but with how dangerous this Georgia Tech running game is, Hosley is never a bad option fantasy-wise.

OCTOBER 11, 2025 • Associated Press

Stifled vs. Wake Forest Hosley compiled eight rushes for 36 yards and gathered in 2 of 3 targets for seven yards during Saturday's 30-29 overtime win versus Wake Forest.

Impact Hosley was the top running back for Georgia Tech in a narrow win over Wake Forest, but that's not saying much; the Yellow Jackets' tailbacks could hardly find any room to run. Quarterback Haynes King, meanwhile, managed to top 100 yards on the ground but it was tough sledding for the rest of the ball-carriers. Hosley remains second fiddle to Jamal Haynes, but both should have a favorable matchup next week against Virginia Tech.

SEPTEMBER 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Scores twice vs. Owls Hosley recorded five rushes for 59 yards and two touchdowns and reeled in 0 of 1 targets for zero yards during Saturday's 45-24 victory over Temple.

Impact Hosley only logged five carries as the second fiddle to Jamal Haynes in Georgia Tech's backfield, but he managed to find the end zone twice for his third and fourth touchdowns of 2025. Hosley remains firmly behind Haynes in the pecking order, but with how dangerous this Yellow Jackets' ground game has been, Hosley has been playable from a fantasy perspective in multiple games this fall.

Listed as backup for Week 3 Hosley is listed as the No. 2 running back in the depth chart ahead of the Week 3 contest against Clemson on Saturday, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Impact Hosley notched nine rushes for 100 yards and two touchdowns during the Week 2 victory over Gardner-Webb, and he's earned the right to operate as the backup behind the starter, Jamal Haynes. Don't be surprised if Hosley continues to see steady work out of the backfield.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Hits century mark in win Hosley notched nine rushes for 100 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 59-12 victory against Gardner-Webb.

Impact Hosley only needed nine carries to reach 100 yards, splitting time with backfield mate Jamal Haynes (who also got nine carries) as well as a host of other backup ballcarriers that got involved during the blowout win. With tailbacks Chad Alexander and Trelain Maddox missing Week 2, Hosley got a chance to make an impression and, 100 yards and two scores later, it's safe to say he did.
