Impact Owens has only one year of collegiate eligibility remaining, so it makes sense he considers all his available options by entering the transfer portal. The running back's decision comes after a great 2024 that was similar to his 2023, consistency that will make him an appealing option.

Impact Fortunately for Owens, he sat out only one game between his last matchups. Ideally for him, he can get back to logging his usual load of carries. Weeks 4 to 10 saw FIU play six games, four of which included Owens recording double digits in rushing attempts.

DNP against Gamecocks Owens (undisclosed) did not play in Florid aInternational's 34-31 loss to Jacksonville State on Saturday.

Impact Owens was held out of Saturday's contest with an undisclosed injury, marking his first missed game of the season. The redshirt junior running back had previously run for 356 yards and five touchdowns for the Panthers this season, adding eight catches for 82 yards as well. Owens will hope to make his return when the team travels to face Kennesaw State this coming Saturday.

Rushes for 39 yards Owens ran 13 times for 39 yards against NMSU on Tuesday. He also had one catch for eight yards.

Impact FIU won because the passing game got going, but this was not idea for Owens nevertheless. The Aggies have struggled against the run, so the fact Owens only averaged 3.0 yards per carry is a concern.

OCTOBER 29 • ROTOWIRE

Runs for TD Owens ran nine times for 36 yards and a touchdown and had one catch for 10 yards versus UTEP on Wednesday.

Impact Owens hasn't tallied up a ton of yards, but he does have five touchdowns through seven games. He's the lead back for the Panthers, so that's not too surprising. Owens will get the carries in the red zone for the most part.

OCTOBER 17 • ROTOWIRE

Rushes for TD Owens ran 15 times for 52 yards and a touchdown and had one catch for 10 yards versus Liberty on Tuesday.

Impact The touchdown is solid, and the 16 touches is a nice indicator. Owens seems to have taken the role as the top back for the Panthers. He'll face an easy schedule going forward, so Owens has potential here.

OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE

Rushes for two TDs Owens ran 11 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns and had two catches for 40 yards against Monmouth on Saturday.

Impact There must be a reason why Owens is relegated to a secondary role, because he does damage when he gets the ball. Last year he averaged 5.7 yards per carry and scored five touchdowns, but only got 80 carries. This year he's averaged 5.6 yards per rush and scored three times, but has gotten 21 carries through four games.

SEPTEMBER 21 • ROTOWIRE

Finds end zone Owens ran nine times for 60 yards and a touchdown against CMU on Saturday.

Impact On the one hand, Owens has run for 96 yards on 15 carries over two games. On the other hand, he's only gotten 15 carries over two games. Owens only had 80 carries in 2023, so he really need to become more of a part of the FIU offense before he can really make a fantasy splash.

SEPTEMBER 7 • ROTOWIRE

Rushes for 36 yards Owens had six carries for 36 yards against Indiana on Saturday.

Impact Owens' 23-yard run was the biggest play of the day for an FIU offense that could not solve Indiana's defense. Last season he averaged 5.7 yards per carry, so there is some big-play potential to keep in mind here.

Rushes for 59 yards Owens ran six times for 59 yards and caught four passes for 17 yards versus Arkansas on Saturday.

Impact Owens has all of 34 yards receiving on the year, so those numbers aren't indicative of much. He has averaged 5.8 yards per carry, though, and has five touchdowns in 10 games.

Impact Owens has averaged 6.6 yards per carry, and he has five touchdowns in six games. The problem, though, is that he hasn't had more than 11 touches in any contest, which leaves him having to make big plays to do any damage.
