Impact Owens recorded a career high in carries in 2024 with 92, parlaying that into 392 yards and five scores. After initially looking for another program for his fifth season of eligibility, he'll elect to run it back with FIU, where he should remain a valuable piece of the backfield.

Impact FIU won because the passing game got going, but this was not idea for Owens nevertheless. The Aggies have struggled against the run, so the fact Owens only averaged 3.0 yards per carry is a concern.

Impact Owens hasn't tallied up a ton of yards, but he does have five touchdowns through seven games. He's the lead back for the Panthers, so that's not too surprising. Owens will get the carries in the red zone for the most part.

Impact The touchdown is solid, and the 16 touches is a nice indicator. Owens seems to have taken the role as the top back for the Panthers. He'll face an easy schedule going forward, so Owens has potential here.

Impact There must be a reason why Owens is relegated to a secondary role, because he does damage when he gets the ball. Last year he averaged 5.7 yards per carry and scored five touchdowns, but only got 80 carries. This year he's averaged 5.6 yards per rush and scored three times, but has gotten 21 carries through four games.

Impact On the one hand, Owens has run for 96 yards on 15 carries over two games. On the other hand, he's only gotten 15 carries over two games. Owens only had 80 carries in 2023, so he really need to become more of a part of the FIU offense before he can really make a fantasy splash.
