Impact Shoemaker moved with the Bearkats up from the FCS, but he clearly was not up to the challenge of playing at this level. Throwing 48 passes and ending up with only 198 yards passing is just one example of his issues, and he was very turnover prone. If Shoemaker is starting at the FBS level in 2024 it will be a surprise.

Impact This was the winless Bearkats best chance of getting a win this season...and they almost blew it. Shoemaker was a big part of that. Yes, he was efficient in the passing game, and three touchdowns is nice, but he had three turnovers against an FCS team, and that's far from ideal.

Impact Well, Shoemaker is at least consistent. He's thrown for exactly two touchdowns in five starts in a row. On the other hand, he also has thrown one interception in four of those five games.
