Suffers broken foot Farooq suffered a broken foot in Friday's win over Temple and is expected to miss between six to eight weeks, Colton Sulley of The Oklahoman reports.

Impact Farooq exited the contest in the first quarter of the Week 1 matchup against the Owls, and while head coach Brent Venables said the injury wasn't serious, this is clearly a worst-case scenario for the wideout. Under the initial timeframe of recovery, Farooq could be eligible to return in mid-October, though further tests will be needed to determine that time more accurately.

Exits with injury Friday Farooq departed Friday's game against Temple in the first quarter with an apparent left leg injury, Colton Sutley of The Oklahoman reports.

Impact Farooq caught a 47-yard pass from Jackson Arnold in the first quarter and later exited the contest. However, head coach Brent Venables said the injury didn't appear to be severe, so there's a chance he could be ready to play when the Sooners take on Houston on Sep. 7.

Impact Farooq fractured his left foot in spring camp, and the Sooners have been very cautious about reinstating him into practice. He spent much of the summer rehabbing, but now appears to be at full go. That's excellent news for the wideout who figures to be a staple of Oklahoma's passing game this fall after he put up 45 catches for 694 yards and two touchdowns in 2023.

The junior wide receiver has totaled 40 receptions on 65 targets for 630 yards and two touchdowns.
