The Auburn transfer once again led the Hoosiers' running back corps in yards and carries alongside Josh Henderson (12 carries, 29 yards). However, over half of Shivers' rushing production came on a 47-yard rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The 5-foot-7 back has averaged 4.6 yards per carry so far this season, and he should continue to play a significant all-around role heading into the start of Big Ten play against Nebraska next week.

Camper could stand to attract even more passes from Bazelak if second-leading receiver D.J. Matthews, who sustained an undisclosed injury Saturday, misses time moving forward.

D.J. Matthews - Status up in the air for Saturday Matthews (undisclosed) is labeled as day-to-day prior to Saturday's game against Nebraska, Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Impact Although Matthews' Week 5 availability remains up in the air, head coach Tom Allen said the 160-pound receiver's injury isn't long-term, per Osterman. Through the team's first four games, Matthews has caught 17 of his 27 targets for 198 yards and two touchdowns, though this production sits second behind transfer wideout Cam Camper (33-60-418-1) over this span. If Indiana is forced to operate without their second-leading wideout, Javon Swinton and Emery Simmons are in line to take on expanded roles Saturday against the Cornhuskers.

Impact Bazelak averaged the lowest yards per attempt (4.2) of his collegiate career while also tossing a career-high 66 passes against the Bearcats defense. The Missouri transfer was forced to play from behind during much of Saturday's loss after he sailed an interception over the middle of the field on the Hoosiers' second offensive drive. Bazelak was also strip-sacked for a scoop-and-score touchdown at the end of the first half, and he threw a pick on Indiana's final play from scrimmage, thus finishing with a woeful 47 completion percentage. The junior's play should stand to improve when he faces one of the Big Ten's most porous pass defenses in Nebraska next week.
