Impact It seemed like the Sam Houston offense had found a new philosophy. Watson's a limited passer, so he was throwing the ball less and running it a ton, with good success. So, naturally, this week he came out and attempted his most passes in a game yet. That may be about the matchup, though, and 224 yards on 29 attempts is not remarkable. Expect plenty of running from Watson going forward.

Watson has been all over the place in terms of performance, and it's only been four games, but the Bearkats are 3-1 so it's working for now. As long as Watson is healthy enough to play, expect to see him next week against Texas State.

Rice isn't exactly a juggernaut, but it is an AAC team that won six games last season. This is a very encouraging beginning to his time as SHSU's starter.
