Impact Geriner transferred to Texas State after three years at Auburn. He hardly saw the field, attempting a grand total of 20 passes. With two seasons of eligibility remaining, he'll look to win the starting job in his first year with the Bobcats. Jackson, however, who spent his freshman year as a backup with Texas State in 2024, is reportedly putting up a good fight.

Impact During 2024, Texas State's primary quarterback was Jordan McCloud, who is out of collegiate eligibility. Geriner will take a shot at being the Bobcats' QB1 for 2025. He does not have much in-game experience under his belt but comes from Auburn. If an SEC team believed in Geriner, perhaps Texas State can too. However, the current Bobcats have other quarterbacks in Pittsburgh transfer Nate Yarnell and a running QB in Brad Jackson. Geriner will not easily be rewarded Texas State's QB1 role.
